As the saying goes, "The melon changes its color when it sees the melon." This proverb rings true in Bollywood. Whenever a film hits the box office, discussions about more successful films start to surface. However, when a film’s early reports start to falter, negative news starts pouring in for several other films as well. Recently, the teams behind Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency and Ajay Devgn’s Azaad have reportedly begun to feel the heat, especially after the box office reports for Game Changer and Fateh began to sour.

‘Game Changer’ Struggles at Box Office Despite Huge Budget

Game Changer Box Office Collection Day 1: Ram Charan-Kiara Advani's Film Gets A Stellar Start

The initial reports for Game Changer are not looking promising. Directed by Shankar, the film stars South Indian superstar Ram Charan and had a massive production budget of 500 crores. However, its worldwide box office collection in the first four days stands at only 140.70 crores. Even the Telugu version of the film hasn't performed well. After the success of RRR, expectations for this film were high, but it seems the film is struggling.

‘Fateh’ Faces Box Office Struggles Alongside ‘Game Changer’

Fateh Movie Review: Sonu Sood's Mission To Take Down Cybercriminals Becomes A Torturous Ride For The Audience!

Similarly, Fateh, starring Sonu Sood and Jacqueline Fernandez, has also faced disappointing numbers. Sonu Sood not only stars in but also directs this film, which had a budget of 25 crores. The film opened with a collection of 240 crores on its first day, but by the fourth day, it had plummeted to just 95 lakhs. On its first Monday, the film only earned around 1 crore, bringing the total collection to about 7.7 crores. In just four days, Game Changer seems to have lost its momentum, and Fateh appears to be struggling to even recover its production costs.

Emergency & Azaad Teams Worry Amid Box Office Slump

Emergency New Trailer: Kangana Ranaut Delivers Intensity & Political Firepower As She Aims To Show 'Untold History'

The disappointing box office reports for these two films have sent a wave of concern through the teams of film 'Emergency' and 'Azaad'. People are unsure about the audience’s mood. When one film hits, the audience’s mood shifts, and a positive momentum follows. The same was seen in 2023, where films like Pathaan, Gadar 2, Jawan, Tiger 3, and Animal kept the success streak going. However, 2024 has not seen that kind of momentum at the box office, and even in January 2025, the films released so far have failed to spark major excitement in cinemas.

That being said, Azaad has the appeal of Ajay Devgn’s superstar image, along with the fresh faces of Aman Devgn and Rasha Thadani, which could attract audiences. Emergency, on the other hand, offers a powerful story set during the Emergency period, with Kangana Ranaut bringing the role of Indira Gandhi to life on screen. Both films have a certain charm that could draw audiences to theaters. If both these films turn out to be hits, it will be no surprise, and the concerns around Emergency and Azaad will fade away.
