This season delves deeper into the often-overlooked struggles of a Chartered Accountancy (CA) student’s life. In a recent interview, lead actors Prit Kamani, Ahsaas Channa, and Gyanendra Tripathi spoke openly (Half CA Season 2 release) about the new season and what makes it special. Here's what they had to say:
How do you look back at the journey since the first season was so well-received?
Gyanendra Tripathi: "It felt incredibly satisfying. The entire team worked really hard, and seeing the audience connect with it felt like all that effort paid off. It's like running a long marathon and finally passing (Half CA Season 2 streaming) the baton to the audience, who then carry it forward."
Season 2 focuses a lot on ‘Articleship’. What exactly is articleship in simple words?
Ahsaas Channa: "In the CA course, articleship is a very important phase, like practical training, where students gain real-world experience. The tough part is managing both studies and this hands-on work simultaneously. This balance, the pressure (Half CA Season 2 MX Player), and its effect on relationships are all portrayed beautifully in this season."
You’ve played various roles so far. What new colors or changes will your character show this time?
Prit Kamani: "There’s more depth and emotion in my character this time. Many people don’t know that my appearance in the first season was just a special cameo. Maybe viewers connected with that character (Half CA Season 2 cast), so the story has now expanded. This season will show that becoming a CA isn't a solo journey—it involves family, friends, and a support system. Just like in acting, nothing is possible without that support."
How has your role evolved from Season 1 to Season 2?
Gyanendra Tripathi: "There’s definitely a shift. In Season 1, Neeraj Bhaiya was the go-to advisor for Archie and was shown as someone who never makes mistakes. But in Season 2, you’ll see a more (Half CA Season 2 review) human side of him—someone who also faces challenges and makes mistakes. It explores the idea that your work doesn’t define your entire identity; you have a life beyond it."
You've been in front of the camera since childhood. What’s the biggest difference you notice between acting then and now?
Ahsaas Channa: "As a child, I was always treated like a ‘child actor.’ But I learned everything on set. Now, as I grow, my roles have matured too. I started with student characters, and now I’m being (Half CA Season 2 episodes) offered more mature roles. It’s been a very rewarding journey."
Did you take any formal acting training? Or was it self-taught?
Prit Kamani: "No, I never joined an acting class. I was always very observant as a child. My dad used to show me films and pause them to explain what was happening in a scene. That’s where my understanding began. I’ve learned a lot through my own mistakes. I observe everything on set and try to learn from each experience so I don’t repeat my mistakes."
You were a science student. What was it like transitioning from science to acting?
Gyanendra Tripathi: "Yes, I was a science student. And in our society, it’s always said, 'Study well, get good marks.' But during my B.Sc., I realized that I wasn’t happy and wouldn’t be able to do justice to it. So I started participating in stage shows and got a great response. That’s when I realized this is what I want to do. Later, I joined FTII because I believe if you want to act (Half CA Season 2 plot), you must learn and train for it. It’s a kind of qualification for this profession."
Since childhood, you’ve been recognized in public. Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the attention in public places like malls?
Ahsaas Channa: "Not at all—I actually enjoy it! I think one of the reasons people become actors is that they love the attention. I’ve never been uncomfortable with it. In fact, once we were shooting at Marine Drive, and as soon as I removed my mask, people started recognizing me. I interacted with them happily."
Any fun or memorable moments during shooting that still stick with you?
Prit Kamani: "Yes! There’s a romantic sequence in Season 2 where Ahsaas and I go on a date, and it starts raining. We shot that scene in Nashik with artificial rain, but we actually got drenched and were shivering in the cold. It was around 3 AM, and we had to act romantic while freezing—but honestly, it was so much fun and really memorable."
