Bollywood’s glamorous and graceful dancer-actress Helen, now 86, remains just as lively and active as she was during the peak of her career. Her recent fitness video proves that age is just a number – what truly matters is determination.
Helen – the glamorous and graceful icon of Hindi cinema, known for evergreen songs like “Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja,” “Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu,” and “O Haseena Zulfon Wali” – continues to inspire even at the age of 86. (She is also famously known as Salman Khan’s stepmother.) Her latest fitness video is a testament to her energy and willpower, proving that it's not age but intention that defines vitality.
Climbing Stairs and Jumping on a Trampoline Without Support!
Recently, Helen's fitness trainer, Yasmin Karachiwala, shared a video on Instagram in which Helen is seen climbing stairs without any support, jumping on a trampoline, and performing various exercises. It’s hard to believe she can do all this at her age! Her confidence and energy in the video serve as an inspiration for people of all ages. While many shy away from workouts even in their youth, Helen remains fully dedicated to keeping her body and mind active.
Born in 1938 as Helen Jairag Richardson, she popularized cabaret dancing in Bollywood during the 1950s to 1970s. With over 700 films to her credit, she has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. Some of her iconic films include Howrah Bridge (1958), China Town (1962), Gumnaam (1965), Shikar (1968), Sachaa Jhutha (1969), Ailan (1971), Chhote Sarkar (1974), Lahu Ke Do Rang (1979), Khamoshi: The Musical (1996) and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999).
Her most recent appearance was in the web series Brown (2022), based on Abheek Barua’s novel City of Death. She starred alongside Karisma Kapoor in a significant role.
Today, Helen is not just a dancer-actress – she is a living legend of Hindi cinema and has now become a symbol of fitness and a positive lifestyle.
Helen’s video gives us all an important message: if we take care of our body and health, neither age nor circumstances can stand in our way. Whether you're 36 or 86, it is discipline and enthusiasm that keep you truly young.
