Former Bollywood lead-actor veteran Anil Dhawan’s grand-daughter Anjini Dhawan is not only star-material, but she also has excellent intense acting potential. Co-producer Ektaa R Kapoor and star-guest Varun Dhawan introduced budding star heroine Anjini Dhawan to the audience at the trailer-launch. .Anjini's debut film, Binny and Family which is being predicted as this year's biggest family entertainer. The gripping trailer gives a glimpse into the story and highlights the message 'Har Generation Kuch Kehta Hai' in a manner that is enjoyable as well as emotionally striking. 

Even guest of honour-- showman Subhash Ghai said, he had enjoyed watching this movie Binny and Family ‘twice’ at preview screenings --- implying that it had ‘repeat-value’!

The confident, articulate, stunning Anjini Dhawan shared, "‘Binny And Family’ will always be extra-special to me. This multi-layered title role of Binny has given me the chance to dive into the heart of a complex title character who has this frequent conflict with her parents and grand-parents over socializing, partying, lifestyles, and family cultures  I was able to portray something truly authentic. It did not matter to me that it is ‘not; the conventional mushy, romantic sing-song lead role. What is more important that it is a performance-oriented title role and I guess I was destined to play ‘Binny’, “ insists Anjini who considers her real-life grand-maa ( Daadi) Rashmi Dhawan as her initial acting mentor-coach.

Did Anjini always want to take up acting as her career?

“ That’s right. My real-life Daadi ( former actress Rashmi Dhawan) used to coach and teach acting students. Even as a little seven-year-old girl I would actively participate in the drama skits work-shops conducted by her. Whenever there was no class I would feel so disheartened. That’s when I realized that acting had become my dream-passion,” discloses Anjini

Wasn’t’ her character Binny a rebel-girl not willing to comply with conservative family traditions?

Yes, quite true. Binny may appear frank rebellious, but she is also realistic and relatable. She has been brought up by her parents and has studied in the UK (England) . In a particular scene I was really moved to natural tears-- when my screen-father played by seasoned actor Rajesh Kumar actually scolds me in an angry emotional outburst. It was an authentic shot which did not happen during the rehearsal,” reveals Anjini who was not unnerved while performing dramatic confronting scenes with National Award-winning actor Pankaj Kapur 

Explains Anjini, “ What an honour to be working with such acclaimed senior actor Pankaj Kapur who plays my grandfather and he was constantly guiding me and making me comfortable.  The emotional volatile conflict was more like a dramatic verbal ‘jugalbandi’ between the two of us. Both of us are right ( and maybe wrong) in our own way.  I’m grateful to be part of such a meaningful project and can’t wait for audiences to experience the warmth and charm of this story," enthuses Varun Dhawan’s talented niece 

What were the reactions of  her family, especially her real-life grand-father former lead actor veteran Anil Dhawan ( last seen in crime-thriller movie Andhadhun released in 2018) ?

Recalls Anjini, " It felt like getting an Oscar, when Anil Dhawan-Dadajee ( he was howling-sobbing), my Rashmi-Daadi, Varun Dhawan and even Subhash Ghai were in appreciative tears, when they watched me in ‘Binny Aur Family’, “ shares debutante Anjini Dhawan who  feels that this is a unique entertainer movie for every family and they should all ideally take their grand-parents along to watch this movie For all of us, this film has been a fulfilling experience, and I’m super-excited and waiting to see audiences connect with this heartfelt story. This film beautifully captures the essence of family dynamics and how to tackle generation-gaps, and amicably overcome communication-gaps, with the impactful message of ‘Har Generation Kuch Kehta Hai’."

Wasn’t  real-life niece Anjini looking forward to share screen-space with Varun Dhawan ? She instantly responds with a gleeful smile. “ Of course I am waiting to act on-screen with Varun Dhawan ! With whom I share such a warm bonding in real-life.. I am  waiting from film-makers, for exciting scripts and amazing roles that will allow Varun and me, full scope to be impactful co-stars on-screen,” she signs off.
