Famous pop star Dhvani Bhanushali is making her debut in the upcoming film "Kahaan Shuru Kahaan Khatam." She stars alongside Aashim Gulati. The film also features a talented ensemble cast including Supriya Pilgaonkar, Rakesh Bedi, Sonali Sachdev, Rajesh Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra, Chitrangada Tripathi, Vikram Kochhar, Himanshu Kohli, and Vikas Verma. Directed by Sourabh Dasgupta and written by Laxman Utekar and Rishi Virmani—who are known for "Luka Chuppi" and "Mimi"—the film promises a generous dose of comedy-drama and thrills. Notably, this is both Dhvani and Sourabh's debut film.

Recently, the cast and makers of the film held a press conference where they not only discussed their movie but also answered questions from journalists.

When asked about the film’s title, which seems to suggest a typical Bollywood masala film, but with the name "Kahaan Shuru Kahaan Khatam," and how the story connects, director Sourabh Dasgupta responded, “You’ll have to watch the film to find out. When we started writing, it had a different tone; we added comedy to balance it so it wouldn’t just be a thriller. The story is about two people meeting suddenly, not knowing where it will end up. That’s what the film is about.” Filmmaker Laxman Utekar added, “The title was given by Rahul Nanda and it’s a beautiful one. We are very thankful to him for that.”

When asked if Dhvani was prepared to deal with the tag of nepotism, Laxman Utekar replied, “She didn’t come to me; I approached her, so there’s no nepotism here.”

Dhvani was also asked what she hopes her audience takes away from the film. She said, “I want my audience to be entertained by my film. There’s a dialogue in the film, ‘Papa didn’t ask me before fixing the marriage.’ This is not a trivial issue, and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. I remember growing up, seeing many girls whose marriages were fixed without their consent. I am fortunate that it didn’t happen to me; I was always asked for my opinion. I hope this film changes perspectives, and if it does, we will consider it a win.” When asked about the bold decision of running away from marriage in the film, Dhvani said, “I haven’t faced such situations, but if I had, I would have taken a bold decision. However, I believe when you’re given the freedom to make your own choices, you won’t rebel against them.”

Regarding the message for those who run away from marriage and their families, Dhvani said, “I think parents should provide a free environment for their children. If any parents are watching this film, I would suggest asking their daughters what they want.” Aashim added, “Freedom is everything. Everyone should have the right to choose. You should be asked once, and then it’s up to you what you want to do.”
A journalist asked Dhvani about the difference between performing in music videos and acting in films. She replied, “There is a significant difference. In a music video, my identity remains the same; it’s just about the song. But in a film, I have to embody a completely different character and do justice to it as it is written.”

When asked whether she believes in "marriage first and then love" or "love first and then marriage," Dhvani said, “It’s up to you to choose which one comes first.” On the other hand, Aashim, who stars opposite Dhvani in the film, said, “I would prefer an arranged love marriage.”
Aashim was also asked how his character in this film differs from those in his previous roles. He said, “In my previous roles, I haven’t done such comedy. This is the first time I’m playing a comedic character. Until now, I’ve only played serious roles. Here, I was given the freedom to portray the character as I wanted, and it’s been a great opportunity to do something different. I hope this film shows that I can handle various types of roles.”
Director Sourabh was asked about his experience directing his debut film. He said, “My experience has been very good. Everyone has helped me a lot. There was a time when I used to take notes while watching Laxman Sir’s films. I am grateful to everyone, including Laxman Sir, Karishma Ma’am, and Vinod Sir.”

Laxman Utekar commented on the film, “Just like you gave love to ‘Luka Chuppi,’ ‘Mimi,’ ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,’ give the same love to this film. It’s in the same genre. You’ll laugh, cry, be happy, and be quiet—it will have it all. Enjoy the film with your family, and I’m sure you will like it.”
Produced by Bhanushali Studios Limited and Kathputli Creations, the film is produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Laxman Utekar, Karishma Sharma, and Kamlesh Bhanushali. "Kahaan Shuru Kahaan Khatam" is set to release in theaters on September 20.
