The inauguration of the Centenary Year of Environment of Param Pujya Acharya Sushil Kumar Ji Maharaj was held in a grand manner today at Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, through a function organized by Vishwa Ahimsa Sangh Trust. On this historic occasion, 14th President of India Hon'ble Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Joint General Secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Hon'ble Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, President of International Vishwa Hindu Parishad Hon'ble Shri Alok Kumar, Swami Chidananda Saraswati Ji, Senior Thinker Hon'ble Shri Krishna Sah Vidyarthi, Chairman of Vishwa Ahimsa Sangh Shri Kishore Makwana, Vice Chairman Kamal Oswal, President Gautam Oswal, Treasurer Kuldeep Jain, and Delhi State President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Kapil Khanna, sponsor of Environment Centenary Festival Satyabhushan Jain and Shri Gopal Arya, active for environmental protection, along with many other dignitaries were present.
The program started with a minute's silence as a tribute to the souls that died in a plane crash, after which all present were administered the oath to protect the environment. Honorable Ramnath Kovind Ji and Dattatreya Hosabale Ji inaugurated the festival by offering water to the Kalpvriksha at the feet of Gurudev. On the Environment Birth Centenary Year of Acharya Sushil Kumar Ji Maharaj, Sadhvi Deepti Ji welcomed all the visitors by presenting a plant. She said, “Gurudev is that flower whose fragrance remains in our lives even today.” She told that Acharya Shri Sushil had administered the oath to more than 53,000 people in the Aravali Bachao Abhiyan and the inspiration to plant Kalpvrikshas across the country came from him. Sadhvi Ji announced that being the successor of His Holiness Acharya Sushil Kumar Ji Maharaj, it is my responsibility to make Gurudev's dream come true. From 15th June 2025 to June 2026, one crore Kalpvrikshas will be planted and the person who plants 9 trees will be known as 'Paryavaran Veer'.
Guru Ji used to say that soil, water, sunlight and air are the only medicine for all diseases. We all have to plant 9/9 Kalpvrikshas. Life is not possible without Kalpvrikshas. Save the earth, save water, save the family, purify the air. This was Guru Ji's dream and we will all together fulfill that dream. The purpose for which Guru Ji had created the institutions, his dream will be realized. Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji said, "Those who live only for themselves die and those who live for the society are remembered. Acharya Sushil Ji is still alive through his works." Alok Kumar said that "The world today is struggling with conflicts and violence. Violence cannot be stopped without compassion. If we cannot feel sad at the pain of others, then peace in the world is not possible." At the end of the program, Shri Gautam Oswal thanked all the distinguished guests. Satya Bhushan Jain, the main supporter of this historic event, praised Sadhvi Deepti ji's Kalpvriksha Sankalp and expressed his full support.
