There are many fashion startups and brands founded by women and made for women. Internationally too, some of the strongest figures in fashion and beauty are women, and the same is true in India—this number is steadily growing. I believe that in this field, gender doesn’t matter, talent does. Whoever has vision and talent can take their startup forward.”

Akshay Kumar joins as an investor

Talking about joining the show that aims to take Indian fashion startups to the global stage, Akshay Kumar said, “In my family, both my mother-in-law and wife are very interested in fashion. I, on the other hand, am quite happy in my white shirt and blue pants—or track pants! But I’ve realized that the fashion business is as fascinating as it is talented. You’ll be surprised to know that India’s fashion industry generates ₹9 lakh crore annually, whereas our film industry (including Tamil and Telugu cinema) makes around ₹15,000 crore a year. That’s why I loved the idea of this show—where we’ll invest in fashion startups and help them go global.”

When asked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Made in India’ influence on the show, Akshay responded, “Our Prime Minister is very particular about fashion and always promotes ‘Made in India’. The core idea of our show is also Made in India—all the brands featured here are homegrown.”

Akshay further added, “What I really liked about this show is that it gives opportunities to new companies. Even in the film industry, I’ve always supported new people—I’ve worked with 23 debut directors and 26 newcomer actresses.”

Speaking about money and peace of mind, he said, “Of course, I work hard and work for money. But for me, mental peace is far more valuable than wealth. If I had to choose between the two, I’d always choose peace of mind.”

Malaika Arora said

At the event, Bollywood and fashion diva Malaika Arora, who is one of the judges on the show, said, “I can proudly say that this show marks the beginning of a new era for fashion and entrepreneurship. I also run my own online startup — The Label Life — which is completely run by women, for women.”

Manish Malhotra shared

Fashion designer Manish Malhotra said, “There has always been a gap between art and commerce in fashion, but that gap is slowly closing. Just as cinema is finding a balance between artistic and commercial films, fashion too is finding that blend. Fashion is often underestimated, but it requires immense hard work. This show highlights that dedication—the participants are extremely hardworking and grounded.”

Sushant Das shared

Sushant Das, representative of Jio Hotstar, said, “This show has been created to bridge the existing gaps in India’s fashion industry. Our goal is to take ‘local to global.’ This initiative will bring designers from smaller towns to an international platform.”
