Mika Singh--Saawan mein ‘lagaa’ di aag? By Chaitanya Padukone

By a bizarre coincidence, it turned into a real-life situation of his own chartbuster song ‘Saawan mein lagg gayi aag’ for birthday-boy Mika Singh. Despite the heavy thunder-showers and gusty winds that lashed the city, flamboyant Bollywood playback singer-showman-performer Mika Singh made his fiery swag-entry into his own classy birthday party at the opulent ‘Sin City’. Stepping onto the dais, Amrik (that’s Mika’s real name) enthused, “My mentor-buddy Salman–bhai Khan has wished me a rocking career ahead, and so has my senior well-wisher singer-composer Anup Jalota, because of whom I am hosting this party in the city. There are so many ex-Bigg Boss contestants today at my party especially stunning singer-actress Jasleen Matharu whom I had given a music-video break thru-long ago and she had then become a famous face.

Now I have just crossed my 40s. Like the way Jalota did, I am also waiting to become 60 plus and enter ‘Bigg Boss’ with a young hot-babe,” quipped Mika, whose career-strategy was to release a new peppy song track every six months. “But my ardent fans are demanding that I bring out a new dhaasu gaana,  once in three or four months,” smiles Mika (of  ‘Aankh Maare’ track fame). The turnout of celeb-guests at Mika’s party, was so huge that it almost resembled a Music Awards event.

The ‘khaas mehmaan’ included debonair Talat Aziz, Govinda, Sohail Khan, Krishna Abhishek with wife Kashmira Shah, Naved-Javed Jaffrey, Manish Paul, Gulshan Grover, vivacious Iulia Vantur, Raima and Riya Sen, singer Nitasha Aggarwal, DJ Sheizwood, Shaan, Vindoo Dara Singh –the list is endless.
