Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari was presented Collector’s Edition books on Parrot Conservation and Gandhi’s Legacy by Shri Sushil Kumar Agarwal, Founder, Ultra Media and Mintage World.
Mintage World’s visionary CEO, Founder of Ultra Media and Entertainment Group, Author and Life Member of Bombay Natural History Society, Shri Sushil Kumar Agarwal recently met the Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari and presented him special coffee table books from Mintage World titled 'Endangered Parrots of the World' on Stamps, Coins and Banknotes and Mahatma Gandhi’s Global Collections through Stamps, Coins and Banknotes.
“Mintage World”, is the world’s first online museum dedicated to old and modern coins, stamps and currency notes, promoting numismatics and philately in the younger generation.
Shri Nitin Gadkari was really impressed by the concept and had a detailed conversation about the countries depicted in the parrot collection. When he asked why the book focuses only on parrots, the author explained that this is just the beginning – future editions depicting other bird species are already in the pipeline. Shri Nitin Gadkari also mentioned the Mumbai Roadside Bird Park project – a publicly announced initiative by the Government, which goes well with the book’s theme of conserving and appreciating birds. He recognised the potential synergy between the park and such collectible editions in spreading awareness about endangered species and conservation of their habitats. “Endangered Parrots of the World” is being launched to celebrate the mesmerising beauty of these colourful parrots from across the world. The collection is a unique and rare compilation of various legal coins, stamps and banknotes issued by various countries on threatened and endangered species of parrots across the world.
It compiles, chronicles and collates all legal stamps, coins and banknotes issued on threatened and endangered parrots, along with their historical and geographical significance on a global scale. It brings to light the various serious problems faced by these beloved pets and the challenges faced for their maintenance and conservation.
This coffee table book is a thoroughly researched collection that began by identifying endangered parrot species around the world and determining the scope of data collection, including the period of collection, geographical area and types of collection.
Mintage World approached collector communities, online forums and social media groups to obtain rare and unique information. They also partnered with conservation organizations to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the collection. Additionally, they collaborated with organizations specializing in stamps, coins and banknotes to access their expertise and resources. In addition, Mintage World also worked closely with Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), one of the largest non-governmental organizations in India engaged in conservation and biodiversity research and took their support in research and statistics.
"Global Compendium of Mahatma Gandhi through Bank Notes, Coins and Stamps" is the only book in the world that displays and explains various stamps, coins and notes issued by 144 countries across the world on Gandhiji since 15th August 1948. This compilation chronicles and collates in chronological order the historical significance as well as the historical significance of all commemorative issues printed and legally minted by various countries and post offices across the world in honour of Mahatma Gandhi. Each coin and stamp issued in India and globally on Mahatma Gandhi depicts an important historical journey of him and India. 75th anniversary of Indian Independence. It also shows the 75th anniversary of Gandhi's Dandi March and non-violent moment. Also, working together with more than 40 countries to celebrate 100 and 150 years of the glorious legacy of Gandhi has also been discussed.
