NoyontaraColors TV New Thriller: Horror and thriller genres are winning hearts in Indian cinema, and now the television industry is embracing them too. Colors TV is set to launch ‘Noyantara’, a supernatural thriller rooted in Bengali culture.
The show stars Shruti Bhist, Arjun Chakrabarty, and Narayani Shastri in lead roles. Arjun plays Dr. Surjo Sengupta, a brilliant doctor who unknowingly finds himself entangled in the world of supernatural forces. Shruti Bhist portrays Noyantara, a 23-year-old woman blessed with the extraordinary ability to see spirits.
Cast Shares Their Experiences at Promotional Event
The show was launched with a promotional event on June 5, 2025, where the cast engaged with the media and shared intriguing insights about their characters.
The event opened with Shruti Bhist making a grand entrance dressed as a Bengali bride, alongside her on-screen husband Surjo (Arjun Chakrabarty). On stage, Noyantara’s younger brother introduces her and reveals her gift of seeing spirits. Following this, Narayani Shastri enters as Surjo’s sister-in-law, asking Noyontarato take care of him—though her character carries an air of mystery.
What the Stars Said:
Arjun Chakrabarty shared, “My character Surjo is calm, serious, yet emotional—a doctor who is the opposite of Noyantara. She can see spirits, while he doesn't believe in them. The show presents Bengali culture in a fresh way. It's not just a love story or family drama—it has supernatural twists too. This is my Hindi TV debut, and I hope the Hindi audience loves it just as much as the Bengali audience did.”
Shruti Bhist said, “Noyontarareceived a divine blessing from Baba Puttanath in childhood, enabling her to see spirits. It wasn’t something she chose—it was bestowed upon her. The show is full of mystery, suspense, and emotional family moments. My character may be simple but is very powerful. Shooting in a Bengali bridal look was a special experience—everything was authentic: the Banarasi saree, shankha-pola, and gold jewelry. Around 50% of our team is Bengali, which ensures cultural authenticity. We even have a few Bengali dialogues like ‘Aami aashi’.”
Narayani Shastri added, “I’m playing a double role—one positive and one negative. It’s a challenging and exciting task. I have to stay alert to know which character I’m portraying at any moment. Filming in Bengali attire has been unique—everything was brought from Kolkata: the jewelry, saree, and nose ring. I don’t even wear makeup in real life, but dressing up for this role felt good. I also learned some Bengali lines like ‘Bangla bolo amar shathe’ (Speak Bengali with me). This show is one of the best decisions of my career—give it a chance, and it’ll hook you.”
Noyontarawill premiere on Colors TV from June 9, 2025, airing every night at 8:30 PM.
