Valentine’s Day is often about grand gestures, but sometimes love is found in quiet encouragement and unwavering belief. For Monika Dhruv, a homemaker from Shahdara, Delhi, love became the foundation of a life-changing journey that transformed her from a devoted homemaker to a celebrated writer. Pocket FM is redefining India’s storytelling landscape through its AI-powered creative ecosystem, by enabling storytellers from across backgrounds to turn ideas into full-fledged audio series.

One such writer is Monika Dhurv, who balances household responsibilities and raising two children while rediscovering her long-forgotten love for storytelling. Her biggest strength throughout this journey was her husband, whose constant support and encouragement helped her take the first step toward writing again.

Monika’s love for stories began during her college years, when she immersed herself in classics like Chandrakanta and Urmila, along with family dramas from old Hindi cinema. However, after marriage in 2016 and adjusting to a joint family, her passion gradually faded as responsibilities took centre stage. Years later, a simple moment changed everything. Monika downloaded the platform (Pocket FM) out of curiosity. What began as reading soon turned into writing, encouraged by her husband, who urged her to pursue something that truly made her happy.

Her first story, ‘Obsessed Husband’, marked the start of her creative journey. Soon after, with support from Pocket FM, her story ‘Married to a Heartless’ was adapted into a successful audio series that connected deeply with listeners across India, marking a turning point in her career.

“Many people see writing as my achievement, but for me, it has always been our journey,” Monika shares. “There were moments when balancing family and writing felt overwhelming, but my husband’s faith in me never allowed me to give up. He stepped in whenever I needed support. Be it managing responsibilities at home or simply reminding me why I started. His patience, and understanding became my biggest motivation. As love shouldn’t confine one, instead it should help you shine.”

Her dedication and consistency eventually led to a major milestone when her horror series Shrapit Ishq won an award, establishing her as one of Pocket FM’s leading storytellers. Monika added, “I never imagined that someone like me, a homemaker from Shahdara would achieve all of this. I wrote my first chapters with my little daughter on my lap, often typing between chores. My husband never questioned my time or my dreams; he protected them and celebrated every small win as if it were his own. And, Pocket FM gave me a space to learn and grow, my audience showed me what they loved, and my family gave me the strength to keep going. Today, I earn well, support my family, and feel the confidence I never had before. Writing isn’t just my job now, it's my identity.”

This Valentine’s Day, her story stands as a reminder that love is not just about celebration, but about partnership, trust, and believing in each other’s dreams.
