Recently, at Plaza PVR in New Delhi, the film's producer Devendra Malviya and the lead actors of the film were talking to the media to promote the film 2020 Delhi, which has been surrounded by tremendous controversies even before its release, when the advocate accompanying them informed them that Sharjeel Imam, accused in the Delhi riots, has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court to stop the release of the film. On this news, producer-director Devendra Malviya said that he does not know why Sharjeel Imam and Abhishek Manu Singhvi are upset without watching the film.
Without being distracted at all by his strong intentions and the step taken, Devendra said that we have not received any information from the court yet, we respect the law and will ensure that the film is released on its pre-determined date while staying within the ambit of the law.
Experienced film and TV actor Samar Jaisingh also accompanied producer Devendra to this press conference. He shared his experience of working in the country's first single shot film with the media.
Samar says that the experience of working in this film was completely new not only for me but for all the actors, in single shot technique the actor does not get a chance for retake, so not only me but all the actors of this film worked very hard, Samar says that I am surprised that no one has seen this film yet, on 24 January only a 3 minute trailer of the film was released and on seeing it, the country's renowned advocate Manu Singhvi started spewing venom against the film, see his statement in which he is calling our film the biggest threat to the unity and integrity of the country. These people do not know how much hard work goes into making a film from the maker and the actors to many people of the unit, instead of encouraging the maker of such a film that exposes the truth, these people start demoralizing him.
Samar Jaisingh says that we just got to know that an accused of Delhi riots has filed a petition in Delhi High Court to stop the release of the film, this is sad for the makers of the film and all of us, Samar says that truth always wins, so we will also win and the film will be in front of the audience.
