Rock-star Bday-boy Suresh Wadkar reveals first-time avataar as celeb-Host on Studio Refuel khatta-meetha upcoming radio-show ‘Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Ley’ ! by Chaitanya Padukone

Legendary classical singer, amazing playback singer and sangeet-Guru ‘Padma Shri’ Suresh Wadkar was in an upbeat mood. Deviating from his otherwise serious, sober image playing the harmonium, Suresh almost became a rock-star on stage—even as he acted convincingly as if he was ‘strumming’ the electric guitar!   It was on the eve of his birthday celebration ( Aug 07th)  and amidst great fanfare, he cut a cake to commemorate the occasion.  To mark this wonderful occasion Suresh-jee announced the launch of a new radio program titled "Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le," produced by Studio Refuel.

The birthday celebration held late evening  at premium Raheja Classique Club saw his wife, multi-talented singer-guru Padma Wadkar, as a “special guest”, along with dynamic show anchor ( M.D.) Dev Kumarr ( with his charismatic supportive wife  Riddhi Kumar)  and Studio Refuel's CEO India Chapter Sachin Tailang and CEO Dubai Chapter Raman Chibber.

 Versatile Suresh Wadkar, known for his soulful voice and timeless peppy and haunting melody-songs, took the opportunity to reminisce about the evergreen song "Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le" from the landmark film "Sadma’ (1983). And he also sang a few lines of the evergreen retro-song composed by Southside genius Ilaiyaraaja ( also fondly called ‘Raja’) and revealed the song's recording anecdotes behind-the scenes ( BTS) and its timeless popularity even till today..  Later on,  media-farmaish Suresh also sang live a few lines of Chappa Chappa Charkha Chale ( Machhis-1996), Megha Rey Megha Rey ( Pyaasa Saawan ), and Tumse Milke ( Parinda-1989)..

Inspired by this iconic song, Suresh Wadkar is venturing into radio for the ‘first time’, was expressing his excitement about this new host journey. The radio show, which will be available latest by auspicious Diwali utsav,  promises to be a musical journey where the outspoken Suresh Wadkar will reveal some unheard stories from his memories and rare little-known facts and trivia about his song-recordings, his song-sittings and his live concerts “Besides sweet happy nostalgia incidents in my life and career,   but ( khatta-meetha)  also maybe unfiltered thoda-sa bitter and sour memories and experiences will be shared by me and some startling facts about my career and songs,” assures Suresh-jee, who has the constant support of his life-partner wife Padma Wadkar.

The launch event turned into a live musical evening where Suresh Wadkar enthralled everyone by singing his banger-hit songs. Upholding the tradition of  Guru-Shishya (teacher-student), Suresh Wadkar runs Ajivasan, (dedicated to revered  Sangeet Guru and classical legend Pandit Jialal Vasant)  where he and his team diligently train students in vocal singing and music..

Born on August 7, 1955, the modest, soft-spoken Suresh Ishwar Wadkar has sung numerous blockbuster Hindi and regional language songs. The anticipation for the radio show "Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le" is high among his fans, music enthusiasts, and cinephiles alike."
