Sachin Pilgaonkar is still remembered in the industry for his powerful acting. He is a superstar who has not only acted but also ventured into singing, directing, and producing. Not just in Bollywood, he has made a significant name for himself in Marathi cinema as well, and has also earned recognition on television through his acting skills.

Sachin started his career as a child artist. Yes, he made his acting debut in 1962 with the Marathi film Ha Maza Marg Ekla as a child artist. This film became even more special for him when he won the National Award for it. He revealed this on comedian-actor Kapil Sharma's show.

Jawaharlal Nehru Gave a Rose

Telly Trivia: Did you know TV actor Sachin Pilgaonkar received a red rose  from Pt Jawaharlal Nehru at the age of 5?

During this period (1962-1967), India's second President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, personally presented the award to him. Sachin shared that as soon as he received the award, he was called by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who made him sit on his lap and gave him a rose. It’s worth mentioning that Nehru loved children, and they affectionately referred to him as "Chacha Nehru."

As a child artist, Sachin worked in around 65 films. As a lead actor, he worked in several successful films like Sholay (1975), Geet Gata Chal (1975), Balika Badhu (1976), Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978), Nadiya Ke Paar (1982), Satte Pe Satta (1982), and Brahmchari, among others. These films were major successes. He has also directed many hit Marathi films, including Mai Baap (1982), Navri Mile Navryala (1984), Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1988), Amchya Sarakhe Amich (1990), and Navra Maza Navsacha (2004), Navra Maza Navsacha (2024). Recently, he appeared in Babil Khan's web series 'Logout' (2025). Not just in Marathi, Sachin has also worked in Bhojpuri cinema.
