When Shah Rukh Khan’s Jamia Days Took an Unexpected Turn

Raised in Delhi, Shahrukh Khan entered acting through theater. But even in his studies, his mind was nothing short of brilliant. After graduating from Delhi University, he enrolled in Jamia Millia Islamia for a master's degree. All was going well, but then a mistake changed everything. A small outburst changed his life.. In those days Shahrukh was busy shooting for his first TV serial, "Fauji." Juggling both shooting and studies wasn't easy, but he still went to the college library to study. It's said that he had already taken all his exams and was about to take the last one when the principal said something that offended the young Shahrukh. The principal, perhaps dissatisfied with Shahrukh's repeated abandonment of college to shoot, said, "If it were up to me, I wouldn't have allowed you to take the exam."

When Shah Rukh Khan Walked Out of His Jamia Exam in Anger

This sparked a surge of self-respect in Shahrukh. He angrily replied, "OK Then I won't write the exam!" and stormed out of the exam hall. In that moment, his master's degree remained incomplete forever. His mother was understandably angry and embarrassed. When Shahrukh's mother heard this, she was furious. She personally took Shahrukh to the principal's office and made him apologize. Shahrukh Khan later said that his mother took him there by the ear, but by then it was too late. The exam was over, and nothing could be done.

Shahrukh admits that he was very young at that time and, driven by anger he made the wrong decision. Later, he realized how a small mistake can change the course of life. Now, when students from Jamia Millia Islamia meet  Shahrukh, they see Shah Rukh as their role model. Often, when they meet him, he smiles and says, "My degree is still there."
