Running from Sunny Deol in Darr (1993), 'Bhaag Arjun Bhaag' with Salman Khan in Karan Arjun (1995), running after the girl in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) - all these films became hits. In Koyla too, I ran a lot - after dogs, after villains, after trains."

The tough shooting of 'Koyla' and Shah Rukh's injury

Shah Rukh described the shooting of 'Koyla' as extremely challenging and a 'nightmare'. During the shooting of the song "Dekha Tujhe To...", he seriously injured his knee while performing a dangerous stunt. He himself says that in the film he sometimes ran to escape from a helicopter, sometimes actually set things on fire, and sometimes had to work in wet clothes in minus temperatures. He jokingly said that the dance there was actually his shivering, not any choreographed dance: "I was not doing any dance. My bones were shaking throughout the shooting, but the audience was seeing the dance."

Many scenes of the film were risky

The producer-director of the film was Rakesh Roshan, who believed that true action is the real masala. This was the reason why Shah Rukh did many risky stunts himself. He said, "Today, if I am asked to do those scenes again, I will never do them."
