Director Anurag Basu Speaks
During the event, Anurag Basu shared insights into the film’s shooting, saying, “We filmed in Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi. Cities play a crucial role in every film. Today’s generation is confused about love, romance, and career — this film portrays all of that.”
Pritam on Music
Composer Pritam revealed, “The film has 12 songs. We’ve incorporated poetry in a modern style. Some lyrics are adapted from Ghalib’s verses, presented in a new way, alongside new ghazals.”
Bhushan Kumar’s Passion for Work
At the event, Pritam praised Anurag Basu for being deeply involved in lyric writing and mentioned how passionate producer Bhushan Kumar is about his work. Anurag added, “Creating music with Pritam is always a fun experience.”
Papon’s Humble Revelation
Singer Papon said, “I didn’t care whether I’d get paid or not — I just wanted to work with Pritam da. I was ready to do it even if I had to pay.”
Bhushan Kumar Remembers His Father
T-Series head Bhushan Kumar shared, “Whenever I approve a song, I always remember my father first.”
Anurag Basu Reflects on Creativity
Director Basu added, “Everyone has a different favorite song. Pritam and I don’t know how to put a full stop. I love trains and rain — they often appear in my films. But this time, things will be different.”
Fatima’s Quirky Memory
Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh humorously said, “No matter how many times my heart broke, I always reacted to the songs from Life in a Metro. I loved that film. I broke many flower pots — but thankfully, never anyone’s head!”
Emotional Moments
Actress Konkona shared, “Even during today’s event, I got teary-eyed watching the song. I got to work with Pankaj ji for the first time, and it was amazing.” Pankaj Tripathi added, “No filmmaker had imagined me in this role, but Anurag da gave me the chance. I’m grateful.”
Remembering Irrfan Khan
Konkona spoke emotionally about her former Life in a... Metro co-star Irrfan Khan, saying, “He can never be forgotten.” Anurag Basu added, “While shooting a scene similar to the previous film, Konkona suddenly started crying. We miss him. We also deeply miss KK and other colleagues we’ve lost.”
Whom Did It Take Time to Forget?
During the media round, stars were asked what took them ‘zamaana’ (a long time) to forget:
Aditya Roy Kapur: “It took time to get over my pets.”
Fatima Sana Shaikh: “I never lost anyone, so I never had to forget.”
