Producer’s Perspective
Sudipto Sen said that this film, which deals with superstitions and occult practices, portrays real human stories and highlights the harsh realities of society. He emphasized that the aim of the film is not to create controversy but to show events as they happened, even if the realities are uncomfortable.
At the trailer launch, he discussed the challenges filmmakers often face when portraying human stories that collide with social norms. He said that any true human story attracts him. Referring to his previous film ‘The Kerala Story’, he explained that it began with four girls, but he met 3,500 girls, which inspired him to tell their stories.

He further added that his goal is to get as close to the truth as possible when telling a story. Making controversial films was never his objective; his aim has always been to bring uncomfortable truths to light. As both a storyteller and an artist, he believes such stories deserve to be told, and someone had to tell them—so he chose to do so.

Censorship Approval
The film received clearance from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) after extensive discussions. Sudipto Sen said that his meeting with the censor board involved many debates, which he found very important. The panel included young members around 30 years of age as well as senior members aged 70–75. Initially, some members thought the film was criticizing saints, but they eventually understood that the film is not against any community—it exposes exploitative practices present in certain parts of society.

OTT Perspective
Sudipto Sen also spoke about how OTT platforms handle sensitive subjects. He said that instead of focusing on political or commercial success, the priority should be the story. According to him, OTT platforms now play it safe, avoiding religious or social issues, whether positive or negative. He added that he has always spoken about people’s pain since childhood and believes that truth must always prevail, no matter what.
