Sentimental tearful tribute from showbiz celebs to the creative genius of actor-producer-director Dheeraj Kumar! by Chaitanya Padukone

It was so heart-warming  to observe the Indian Film and TV entertainment industry united in grief and remembrance at the Prayer Meet held for veteran iconic actor, producer, and director Dheeraj Kumar, whose contribution to cinema and television left a lasting legacy.

A host of film and television personalities, singers, and political figures attended the solemn occasion at Hotel Sea Princess to offer their condolences and pay tribute to the benevolent Creative Eye Ltd. founder (Dheeraj Kumar) who shaped some of Indian television’s most iconic shows and gave big-breaks to newcomer talents in his popular TV shows mainly on Doordarshan and other channels.

Among the prominent attendees were Bollywood legends Hema Malini and Jackie Shroff, along with actors Poonam Dhillon, Rakesh Bedi, Mukesh Rishi, Deepak Parashar, Tej Sapru, Ramesh Goyal, Raza Murad, Tinaa Ghaai ,Rangita Singh, Vidhi Ghai and Surendra Pal. Renowned producer Ganesh Jain, singer Padma Shri Soma Ghosh, singer Madhushree, Vivek Prakash, Roli Prakash, actress Eisha Singh, actor Shehzad Khan, and producer Manish Goswami, His Excellency Kobbi Soshani, Consul General of Israel also joined in mourning the loss.

Respected showbiz industry names like Siddharth Roy Kapur, Munmun Dutta, Ashoke Pandit, Kripa Shankar Singh, senior film journalist Chaitanya Padukone and B.N. Tiwari (President, FWICE) were all present to express their condolences Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, a close family friend, and Sunil Gupta, CFO of Creative Eye Ltd., were also among those who paid homage.

The gathering reflected the deep respect and affection towards Dheeraj Kumar commanded across generations and professions. Known for his work in films during the 70s and 80s and for producing meaningful, family-centric content through Creative Eye, he was widely regarded as an inspiring visionary with unwavering integrity.

Condolences were extended to his dignified bereaved wife Zuby Kochar, and family members Inder Kochar and Ashutosh Kochar, as the industry expressed their solidarity in honoring the life and legacy of a creative genius man who was as loved personally as he was professionally. Incidentally, Dheeraj made his debut in a flamboyant actor agile dancer lead role in musical hit movie Raaton Ka Raja(1970) The courteous style-icon shared a warm professional bonding with both superstars 'late' Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan .
