Instead of getting discouraged, Kiara kept honing her craft and in 2016, her career took a significant turn as she landed a pivotal role in the biographical sports drama "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story." Her portrayal of cricketer MS Dhoni's wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni garnered her recognition and put her firmly in the spotlight. Her portrayal of Sakshi was lauded for its authenticity and emotional depth, earning her nominations and awards.

She took on contrasting roles – the free spirited and feisty Megha for Karan Johar’s segment in “Lust Stories”, the quiet and reserved Preeti in "Kabir Singh" and the airhead Monika in the hilarious "Good Newwz." All the three films were critically acclaimed, and Kiara's performances displayed her range and ability to carry a film, for which she even bagged the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress for "Good Newwz" and Zee Cine Award for Best Actress for “Kabir Singh.”

She has delivered strong performances in films like the horror-comedy “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” where she seamlessly blends comedic timing with emotional depth as she navigates the film's supernatural elements. In the comedy-drama "Jugjugg Jeeyo" Kiara delivers a nuanced character of Naina, a young woman caught between her parents' dysfunctional relationship as well as her own which captures the character's emotional turmoil and resilience.
