This live interaction session aimed to create awareness and help India to breathe easy. Nitin Arora said Given the situation today, I have been inundated with calls for beds, hospitals and most importantly lack of oxygen, so we were trying to do our best between friends to coordinate and help but just wasn’t enough, given the shortage the country’s facing.
So when I heard about what the good folks at Mission Oxygen were doing I jumped right in.
This way a lot more people would receive help and my friends from the industry came on board with a good heart to help and a single message I sent them.
We have received an amazing response and a lot more people want to join in to raise funds and do the best to their capabilities to make oxygen available. People have donated with an open heart and we have been able to raise 37cr.
This virtual fundraiser event was organised and managed by Katalyst Entertainment in association with Mission Oxygen. This is a 100% not-for-profit and charitable initiative.
About Mission Oxygen:
Mission Oxygen began as an overnight initiative by a community of founders and entrepreneurs across Delhi/NCR to aid and assist hospitals that were running out of oxygen to treat Covid-19 patients.
Different members across this community segregated tasks according to their core competencies with the aim of purchasing, importing and delivering lifesaving concentrators to hospitals and nursing homes across the city.
This campaign started as a self-funded mission to help hospitals across the country get immediate access to oxygen concentrators.
We assumed a requirement of 100 pieces that we could manage. Within a few hours, we had a requirement of thousands of Oxygen Concentrators.
We have managed to procure 6000 concentrators from China, which have started to ship out and we will be able to supply them to the hospitals starting Thursday.
Further funds will be used to help in the overall Mission Oxygen to help hospitals save more lives.
As for distribution, we are in touch with DG, BSF, Major General (HQ), Indian Army, Chairman ESIC, Directors/Medical Superintendents/Administrative heads of over 240 government hospitals, private hospitals, and nursing homes across 13 states as well as with state governments in Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana.
We have the requirements from them all, allocations are being decided based on actual needs of the government, and distributions are arranged along with necessary legal paperwork for donations to be given out seamlessly, which is open source and can be shared for complete visibility and transparency.
