The Myapuri magazine reporter, Shilpa Nalmwar, recently met Abhishek Sharma, a popular actor from the TV show Vasudha. In this exclusive interview, he shared insights about his fitness, diet, and lifestyle. Active in the industry for a long time and always maintaining a fit physique, Abhishek explained how he keeps his health in check by avoiding sugar and refined flour. He discussed his routines for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the importance of fruits and oats, and exercise tips for staying fit.

Do you fall in the category of people who can eat anything without effect?
I used to be like that earlier, but sometimes I overeat. That’s why I have to control myself. I try to avoid sugar. I love sweets, but now I don’t eat sugar. If I want something sweet, I take jaggery instead.
What does your breakfast, lunch, and dinner look like?
For breakfast, I drink coconut water every morning. Then I have poha, upma, or sometimes oats with milk. For lunch, I take dal and rice. Dinner usually consists of roti and vegetables. In the evening, I have fruits. Occasionally, if I’m very hungry, I eat soya chunks or a banana. I mostly rely on fruits and sometimes oats. I really like oats, so I might have them in the morning or before bed.

When do you eat your last meal?
I try to have my last meal early. When I reach home, I usually eat around 10 PM. But after that, I don’t sleep for two hours, so I try to eat dinner by 9–10 PM. If I’m on a shoot, I have something light or sometimes skip dinner.
Are you an early riser or a night owl?
It depends. If there’s no shoot the next day, I prefer staying up late and can stay awake until 4 AM. On shoot days, I wake up around 5–6 AM. I love watching movies and web shows, and I’m a big anime fan.

What is your favorite food?
I’m a big eater. I look forward to breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. I really enjoy food.
Favorite dish?
Everyone knows it—kadhi chawal. Kadhi chawal is my favorite, and I also love pizza.

Any strict restrictions in your diet?
Sugar. White processed sugar.
Any fitness tips for your fans?
Try to avoid sugar. If you must take it, go for fruits or jaggery—but in limited amounts. Avoid refined flour. You can eat everything else. You only live once. Whatever you eat, make sure you exercise accordingly. I eat a lot, but I also exercise and run to balance it.
