Abhishek Verma Joins Uff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil

Abhishek Verma, well-recognized for his work in hit shows like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Naagin 6, Yeh Hai Chahatein, and Khatron Ke Khiladi 12, is all set to appear in Sony SAB's upcoming romantic comedy Uff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil. He stars alongside Shabir Ahluwalia and Ashi Singh. Abhishek plays the role of Shaurya, the brother of Shabir's character Yug.

In a recent conversation with Mayapuri magazine journalist Shilpa Patil, Abhishek opened up about his character in the show, his long break from television, working with Shabir Ahluwalia and Ashi Singh, and his thoughts on his brother Abhay Verma’s success. Here's what he shared:

• Abhishek, it’s a visual treat to see you on TV again after so long. Where were you all this time?

Thank you! But I never really went anywhere. I just took a little break from television. During this time, I did two web shows – Griha Lakshmi and Ek Farzi Love Story – and had a great experience working with amazing artists. One of those shows (Griha Lakshmi) was with TV star Hina Khan. Now I’m back on TV and enjoying every moment of it.

• How is your character ‘Shaurya’ different from the roles you’ve played in the past?

Shaurya is completely different from all the characters I’ve portrayed so far. He’s fun-loving, a bit clever, and mischievous. These are traits I haven’t explored before, so I’m really enjoying it. I’m confident the audience will love this character too.

• What was the reason for such a long break? Did you choose to step away or was there another reason?

I’m not someone who likes to take breaks. I love working. For me, all 365 days of the year are meant for work. But I was waiting for a good opportunity – something fresh and different. And I think this show, this character, and this team have made that wait completely worth it.

• The show’s producer, Sonali Ma’am, chose you for this role. Is there a special connection?

Yes, I’ve worked with her before in shows like Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. I think she remembered my work and offered me this role again. That really means a lot to me. In a way, it’s the reward of hard work that someone remembers and trusts your talent.

• How was it working with Shabir Ahluwalia and Ashi Singh?

There’s not enough I can say about Shabir Bhai. I’ve been a fan of his since the beginning. Seeing him on set every day made me want to work with him one day – and now that dream has come true. My mom is also a huge fan of his. He’s not only a brilliant actor but also a great human being. Ashi is very positive and energetic. We have a lot of fun on set and share a great bond.

• Your career journey so far has been impressive. What are your thoughts on that?

Absolutely, my journey has been amazing, and I consider myself very lucky. I’ve had the opportunity to work with great co-actors and learn a lot – from acting to camera work and lighting. It has all felt like a form of schooling for me. I believe it’s the result of hard work and divine blessings.

• The ‘Verma Brothers’ are trending on social media. What would you say about this fandom and your brother Abhay Verma’s success?

We feel incredibly proud to receive so much love from the audience. My brother’s film did really well, and people appreciated his performance. I’ve seen how hard he worked, and now he’s reaping the rewards. I also learn a lot from him. We share a great bond, and even at home, we often talk about work. I always bless him to keep working hard and stay grounded.

• Are you planning to enter Bollywood too?

Definitely! If I get a good role, I would love to do a film. Both of us brothers are working really hard, and hopefully, we’ll make a mark on the big screen very soon.

• Lastly, what would you like to say to your fans and viewers?

If you’ve seen the promos of our show – you’ll agree it’s refreshing and unique. I don’t think such a promo has been made on Indian television before. The show features sibling bonding and a lot of heartfelt moments. I request all of you to watch our show Uff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil from June 9 at 8 PM on Sony SAB.
