Television’s popular actress Aishwarya Khare, known for her roles in ‘Vishkanya’ and ‘Bhagya Lakshmi’, is now all set to be seen in a brand new reality show, ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’. Recently, Mayapuri journalist Shilpa Patil caught up with Aishwarya for an exclusive conversation. In this candid chat, she opened up about her new journey, her emotional connection with Bhagya Lakshmi, glimpses of rural life, preparations for the competition, and her experience working with Rannvijay Singha.

  • Audiences have always seen you in different characters. Now that you'll appear as Aishwarya herself in a reality show, how does that feel?

It’s a very exciting experience for me. People often said they wanted to know more about the real Aishwarya, but on social media, I mostly posted pictures as Lakshmi. For the first time, I’ll be on screen as myself — Aishwarya. It’s new for me too, and also for the audience!

  • Why did you say yes to this show? What stood out the most for you?

The concept of the show is very unique. I was in a comfort zone — fixed shoot timings, all the conveniences. But here, I’ll be living in a completely different environment, among people whose lifestyle is very different from mine. Like, I wake up around noon if I’m free, but there, people wake up at 5 AM! That’s the challenge — to change myself, and that’s exactly what pushed me to say yes.

  • All the contestants in the show are women. What do you think of the ones you’ve met so far?

All the girls are very positive and warm. No one has come in with an overly competitive mindset. Everyone has stepped out of their comfort zone, and their goal is just to have fun and experience something new. I’ve really enjoyed meeting everyone.

  • Have you ever lived in a village before?

Yes, once when I was very young, I went to my grandmother’s village near Agra. I was in 4th or 5th grade. We stayed there for two days — there was no electricity, the water was very cold, and my grandmother cooked on a traditional stove. I still remember all those things. And one more thing — when we opened our front door, there was a mustard field right in front. I’ve stayed in a village, but I never really knew the daily routine of that lifestyle.

  • You’ve had a special association with Zee TV. You’ve worked on several shows, especially Bhagya Lakshmi, which you were part of for four years. When the audience accepted you so quickly and then the show came to an end — how did that feel?

I had a very emotional connection with that show. Those four years were very significant for me — both as an actor and as a person. Bhagya Lakshmi was a milestone in my career. When the show ended, I couldn’t really talk to anyone properly for two to three weeks. It had a deep impact on me. But Zee helped me move forward and said, “It’s time for something new.”

  • There are girls from different backgrounds and personalities in the show. How prepared are you to handle any possible clashes?

Bhagya Lakshmi taught me how to adjust with people who think differently. On set, we used to spend 14 hours together daily. That experience is going to help me a lot in the reality show. Teamwork and patience have been my biggest learnings.

Rannvijay Singh Singha - Black Hat

  • How do you feel about working with Rannvijay Singha as the host of the show?

I’m very excited. We’ve all grown up watching him on TV. He has seen so many people’s journeys and hosted so many shows. I feel he’ll be able to guide us really well, especially when the show will challenge us mentally and emotionally.

  • What advice did you get from your family?

They told me that I trust people too quickly, which can be harmful. This time, I’ll have to make decisions on my own because I won’t be able to ask anyone for advice there. That’s the biggest lesson for me — to trust myself and make thoughtful decisions.

  • What was the most important thing for you while packing for the show?

Clothes! Because I never really paid much attention to styling before. I never had a stylist — just wore whatever I felt like. But now, as I’ll be appearing as myself — Aishwarya — it’s important to present myself well. I’ve come prepared this time!

  • Your fans are really excited to see the real Aishwarya. What would you like to say to them?

As Lakshmi, you gave me so much love. If I get even 75% of that love as Aishwarya, it’ll mean the world to me. This show is very different, very unique — and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Please support me.
