TV actress Purnima Tiwari is currently seen in Dangal TV's Pyaar Ki Raahein, where she plays the character of Anjali. Along with her, the show stars Shubhkaran, Rachanaa Parulkar, and Manav Dua. The show is produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. Purnima recently gave an interview to Maya Puri magazine, where she spoke candidly about her character in the show, working with Balaji Telefilms, her bond with co-stars, and much more. Let’s find out what she shared.
You were previously seen in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. Now you’re working with Balaji Telefilms and Dangal TV on Pyaar Ki Raahein. How does it feel?
When I found out I would be working with Balaji, I was overjoyed. I’ve been a fan of Balaji since my childhood, so this was a huge deal for me. What made me even happier was that Ekta ma'am saw Anjali in me. That was a big point for me, and I was on cloud nine at that moment.
In the promo, four characters were introduced. What kind of response did you receive from the audience after watching the promo?
The response after the promo was great. As soon as Anjali appears on screen, she starts with a smile, and this was a huge compliment for me because that’s exactly what I wanted to convey to the audience. Additionally, as soon as her mischievous actions begin, people get happy. I’ve received videos from viewers, telling me how they feel about Anjali’s character.
In the show, Rudra and Priya seem to be compromising with their marriage, but what will we see in the story of Anjali and Ruhaan?
In our show, Anjali and Ruhaan’s story will feel like Raj and Simran’s. They are crazy about each other. Ruhaan falls in love with Anjali at first sight, and now he’s trying to impress her. He’s hiding a few things from me, so I don’t realize that he is not just the driver, but actually Ruhaan. In the show, I still don’t know that he is Ruhaan; I just think he’s the driver.
In the promo, your character is introduced with greed, while Ruhaan is portrayed as true love. What can we expect from Anjali’s character?
Anjali's greed is that she wants to live a lavish life. She wants to have all the luxury things, but she also wants love. She doesn’t just want money; she wants both money and love. However, yes, she’s more inclined towards money because she wants a practical lifestyle.
What else can we expect from Anjali’s character?
We’ve shot a lot so far, but we haven’t shown much love from either side yet. Ruhaan is still trying to impress me, and I’m enjoying it. Initially, I was trying to impress him, but then I realize he is Ruhaan. However, I still act as if I don’t know because I like everything he’s doing for me. This has now turned into a sweet and sour kind of love. We haven’t reached the stage where we love each other yet, and we’re still communicating through hints.
What do you want to say about the BTS and your bond with the cast?
The bond with everyone is really good, and everyone is very friendly. I haven’t felt like I’m building a bond with anyone new here. It’s fun to work with everyone. We have many scenes together, but sometimes, like when I arrive on set at 8:30 AM, I don’t get to meet the rest of the cast because everyone’s scenes are different. So, we don’t always get the chance to bond as much.
What message would you like to give to your fans?
I’d like to thank my fans for the immense love they’ve given me. Even after just 4 episodes of Anjali, I’ve received so much love from all of you.
