Known for her impressive performance in the film Ram Leela, Barkha Bisht is back to winning hearts with her acting in the new show Safaal Hogi Teri Aaradhana, which premiered on October 14 on Dangal TV. In this show, she plays the role of Damini. Barkha spoke to Mayapuri about her character, the fresh storyline, and her bond with co-stars Karanveer Sharma and Sudha Chandran.

Barkha Bisht on Her Role as Damini and Co-Stars in Show

This show is based on the theme of surrogacy. What would you like to say about it?
Barkha-  I want to emphasize that the entire show revolves around surrogacy. This topic is rarely discussed and is still considered taboo. If a woman cannot give birth, what does it mean? I want to highlight that this is a common issue. Fingers are always pointed at women. Through this show, we want to convey to our audience that there are not only natural ways to conceive but also several scientific methods. Additionally, I want to stress that becoming a parent is not just about giving birth; it also involves nurturing the child.

Surrogacy has not yet been fully accepted in our society. Women who cannot conceive often face taunts and pressure from their families and husbands. What message does this show convey in this regard?
Barkha-  In this show, my character is named Damini, and my husband’s name is Madhav Das. Madhav never blames Damini; he supports her and stands as her shield. This sends a strong message that the fault does not lie solely with the woman—it can happen to anyone. It's a physical issue. The relationship between Madhav and Damini aims to showcase the support that should exist between the two partners.

I haven't really seen much of the city: Barkha Bisht - Times of India

We've seen you primarily in OTT and films, and now you're back on TV with such a significant role. What can you tell us about that?
Barkha- Yes, I'm taking on this role after a long time. When I was informed about the show, I found the character very simple, and I liked that, which is why I wanted to do it. Typically, people prefer challenging roles, but sometimes playing a simple character can be just as beautiful.

You're working with Sudha ma'am and Karanveer. What has that experience been like?
Barkha- We have a lot of fun on set. We’ve formed a great trio and often tease each other. I tell Karan that I'm his senior, and he jokes that he can't say anything to me. We respect Sudha ma'am, as she is much more experienced than us, but she keeps things very relaxed.
