Born in the UK and raised in Dubai, British-Asian actress, dancer, singer, and model Rameet Sandhu, who has also appeared in Punjabi films, is all set to participate in Zee TV’s upcoming reality show ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’. Along with her, several other female contestants will also be part of the show. Recently, Mayapuri journalist Shilpa Patil caught up with the stunning Rameet Sandhu. In this special interaction, Rameet shared her thoughts on Zee’s new format, her preparations for the show, and her journey in the Punjabi industry. Let’s find out what she had to say...
- Why did you choose to join a show like ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’?
This show is a big challenge for me. Born and raised in the UK, then spending two years in Dubai — and now suddenly jumping into village life… it’s going to be a major culture shock. But that’s exactly what I wanted — an experience that would make me stronger both mentally and physically. Life is all about taking on new challenges.
- How have you prepared mentally and physically for this show?
I focused on physical fitness by going to the gym and started meditation to stay mentally balanced. I’ve made up my mind to fully embrace the village lifestyle. If people can live there, why can’t we? Everything will be new — lighting a fire with wood, working in the fields — but that’s what makes it a great learning opportunity.
- You’ve already worked in music and acting. Do you consider this show a new phase in your journey?
Absolutely! This is my first-ever reality show, and that too on a prestigious channel like Zee TV. I’ve released music, acted in films, but this show will let people know me as Rameet Kaur — the real person. It’s both a learning experience and a personal milestone.
- Have you met the other contestants yet? What was the vibe like?
So far, we’ve only had brief interactions. All the girls are beautiful and come from different backgrounds. Everyone has a unique vibe. I think the show is going to be full of drama, but also a lot of fun.
- If there’s any conflict on the show, how would you handle it?
I’m someone who stays calm and cool. But if someone disrespects me, I will directly say — “Why did you do that to me?” I can’t hide what I feel inside, even if my Hindi isn’t perfect. I’ll still speak from the heart.
- Since you’ve lived abroad, are you nervous about the language on the show?
A little bit, yes. But I’m trying my best to express myself clearly and without hesitation. Even if my Hindi slips up, that’s okay — I speak with heart.
- The show is hosted by Rannvijay Singha. What are your thoughts on working with him?
I’ve heard a lot about him — he’s very wise and supportive of the contestants. I feel he’ll help make our journey smoother. Moving from city life to a village under his guidance feels reassuring.
- What message would you like to give your fans and viewers?
I will give my best to win your hearts. All I need is your love and blessings. Please be part of this journey with me — and thank you so much for your support!
