Chum Darang, the actress and model from the North-East, participated in Bigg Boss 18 this season and made it to the top 5. After the show concluded, she shared her journey, her relationship with actor Karan Veer Mehra, her bond with Rajat, and her thoughts on Elvish's behavior in a recent interview.

Here's what Chum Darang had to say:

  • How do you feel about the reactions you've been receiving after Bigg Boss, especially with fans loving you so much and you finishing in the top 5?

I’m feeling so happy and overwhelmed with the love I’m getting. It really brings me joy inside. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m so thankful for all the love and support. It’s just so heartwarming!

  • After making it to the top 5, there’s always that thought about going further. Not reaching the final must have been disappointing. How do you feel about it?

Yes, I didn’t make it further, but I didn’t think of it as losing. I focused on the fact that my friend won, which made me happy. Of course, there was a bit of disappointment, but it wasn’t overwhelming. I’d say it was more of a mild disappointment.

  • Everyone was capturing the moment of the winner’s joy, but your expression was the happiest, especially when Karan Veer won. However, the other contestants seemed less thrilled. What do you think about that?

Oh, I was overjoyed! It felt like I had won myself. I was so happy for Karan, and he truly deserved the win. As for the others, maybe they were surprised, but I’m sure everyone appreciated Karan’s journey.

  • What do you think about the #ChumVeer hashtag?

It’s so cute! Honestly, I love the reels people are making on Instagram with the hashtag. They’re so adorable! A big thank you to everyone who’s put in the effort to create these. I know it takes a lot of time and dedication, and I really appreciate it.

  • There’s a lot of buzz about Karan Veer’s feelings for you. He’s been quite vocal, but you’ve been a little reserved. What’s going on from your side?

Well, we were both in the house, and now that we’re out, we’ll see how things unfold. We need some time, and then we’ll figure out where we stand.

  • How do you feel about the changes in your life after Bigg Boss?

Honestly, physically, I lost quite a bit of weight, and I’m really happy about that. Also, when I went out with my parents after the show, so many people recognized me, and that felt amazing. They were so supportive of Karan and said how great he played. It was so heartwarming.

  • There’s a really cute video that went viral when Karan came to drop you off after the finale. What would you say about that moment?

It was a sweet moment. Right now, we’re still friends, and he’s a gentleman. He made sure I got home safely, and I appreciate that. As for what’s next, we’ll have to wait and see.

  • When Karan won and was handed the trophy, many of the contestants seemed less than happy, with some even calling him an "undeserving winner." What’s your take on that?

I completely disagree. Karan played an amazing game from start to finish. The moment was definitely surprising, but he earned his victory. I think people were just caught off guard. If Karan hadn’t won, I would’ve been shocked too, but he deserved it.

  • What’s your relationship like with Rajat Dalal?

It’s okay. We’re not the best of friends, but we’re not enemies either. You could say it’s a neutral relationship.

  • There’s a controversy regarding Rajat’s fans, with some of them reportedly making threats and insulting others. Rajat has responded saying not to target him because of his surname. What’s your take on this?

I think Rajat has always been sensitive about his surname. If people are indeed making threats, he should step forward and appeal to his fans to be more respectful. If something goes wrong, who will be held responsible? It’s important for him to address the situation.

  • What about Elvish’s behavior, especially his last-minute drama and media statements? How do you feel about it?

I didn’t find his behavior appropriate, but I think things are okay now. This is just my personal opinion. Recently, both of them did a podcast together, and it was fun to watch.

  • Do you have a dream project, and is there anyone you’d love to work with?

If I had to choose a dream project, I’d love to work in a film like Mulan—the story of a princess warrior. If such a film were to be made in India, I’d definitely want to be a part of it.
