Actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath have been booked for cheating and breach of trust at the Murthal police station in Haryana's Sonipat district. The FIR, filed on January 22, names the two actors among 13 accused under sections 316 (2), 318 (2) and 318 (4) of the Indian Penal Code. The charges include criminal breach of trust, cheating, and fraudulent transfer of property.

The complaint has been filed against the Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society

Murthal Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ajit Singh told ThePrint that the complainant has named actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath in his statement to the police. "The main complaint is against society which is accused of duping people of their money by luring them to invest. We will have to investigate what role Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath play," Singh said. Vipul Antil, a resident of Sonipat, has filed a complaint against the Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society, which is registered in Indore under the Multi-State Cooperative Society Act, 2002. He alleged that the society has been operating in several states, including Haryana, since September 16, 2016.

The society allegedly promoted fixed deposit (FD) and recurring deposit (RD) schemes with the promise of high returns, using a multi-level marketing strategy and offering incentives to agents to recruit additional investors.
