Dhvani Bhanushali: Making Her Acting Debut in Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam

Popular pop star Dhvani Bhanushali is set to make her acting debut with the film “Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam.” In this film, she stars alongside Ashim Gulati, with a screenplay by Lakshman Utekar and Rishi Virmani, and direction by Saurabh Dasgupta. In an exclusive interview with Mayapuri, Dhvani shared her experiences regarding her character, her journey from singing to acting, and more. Let’s delve into what she had to say.

• How does your character in the film connect to your real life?

As shown in the trailer, my character Meera runs away from home because her father didn’t consult her about her marriage. If something similar happened to me in real life, I would also consider running away. You see, I’m at an age where I can express my opinions, so I would react in the same way as shown in the film.

• You’re a singer and now venturing into acting. What has the journey from wanting to do this to actually doing it been like for you?

My journey is far from over, but I’m thrilled that I’ve begun. For me, singing and acting are two entirely different worlds. This is my first film, distinct from my music videos. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of understanding this journey and discovering Meera’s character. I completely surrendered myself to the director, Saurabh. Before this film, I had some experience in theater; I spent about two months with the artists from SDM College, in a theater group called ‘Nagmandalam.’ Their performance style made me fall in love with acting.

• Since you’re from Mumbai, what’s your favorite food?

My favorite food is definitely vada pav! Once, during a shoot, I even made vada pav for Ashim.

• Your on-screen chemistry looks fantastic. What about your off-screen chemistry?

We get along really well with each other!

• Do you have any fond memories related to Mayapuri magazine?

Mayapuri is such an old magazine! I’ve seen many pictures of actors and actresses in it. Being featured in the magazine during the '90s was a big deal.

The film releases in theaters tomorrow. After winning hearts with her chart-topping songs, Dhvani is ready to enchant audiences with her acting skills.
