Hansal Mehta breaks silence on the box office performance of The Buckingham Murders

Kareena Kapoor Khan's film The Buckingham Murders was released in theatres on 13 September. The film received a positive response. However, it had a slow start at the box office. Meanwhile, The Buckingham Murders director Hansal Mehta spoke for the first time about the film's box office concerns.

In fact, director Hansal Mehta, while talking about the box office numbers of Kareena Kapoor's The Buckingham Murders, said, "I would be lying if I say I don't panic. Now I can take breaks. Earlier, I couldn't do that, so I used to hide. Now, I leave and finish the film even before it releases. This allows you to move on, otherwise, you can get stuck."

Continuing his point, Hansal Mehta further said, "It is a difficult balance. The PR firm does not let me get out of it so easily. Unfortunately, we have made it a very short game, a weekend game. Whereas, I believe films are for posterity. You can consider the time. We no longer give it that time. We reduce films to a number and I think it greatly undervalues ​​the work you have done. People who have nothing to do with the film and its investment become commentators and behave like stakeholders, without having a holistic understanding of how the business model of films works in reality."
