Well-known television actor Sheezan Khan is in the limelight these days for his upcoming Zee TV show “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan.” Recently, in an exclusive conversation with Mayapuri magazine journalist Shilpa Nalamwar, he opened up about his character, chemistry with co-star Amandeep Sidhu, and shooting experiences. During the interview, he also revealed that the love he and his on-screen pairing with Amandeep Sidhu are receiving from the audience is a very positive sign. Let’s dive into the full interview…

Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan Sidhu Aka Sheezan On His Character

  • The promo of the show broke viewership records as soon as it was released. How did it feel to receive so much love from the audience?

Honestly, I was speechless. The day the promo was released was also my birthday, so it felt like a gift from the universe. I kept receiving calls and messages from family, friends, and fans. Seeing the happiness of my mother and sister gave me peace. It feels like I’m on the right track. Getting this much love even before the show has started is a huge thing for me.

  • The audience seems very excited about your on-screen chemistry with Amandeep. What’s the secret behind it?

We’ve worked together before, so this isn’t an unfamiliar bond. When there’s friendship, fun, and pulling each other’s leg, it automatically reflects on-screen. Amandeep is a brilliant performer who always gives 100%. I also give my all, and maybe that’s why our chemistry looks so good on screen.

  • Tell us about your character ‘Sidhu.’

‘Sidhu’ is his mother’s most beloved son. He does whatever she says. He’s a boy from Varanasi and a true devotee of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva. Whenever he fights someone, he first touches the opponent to sense “who’s standing in front of me,” and from there, he derives his strength. He even has his mother’s name tattooed on his chest. He takes pride in who he is.

  • Will the audience see something different in your work this time?

Yes, absolutely. I’ve been fortunate to play a variety of roles, but ‘Sidhu’ is very special to me. This character has a heavy dose of action. The audience won’t just get glimpses; they’ll get a full buffet of action. It challenges me as an actor, and I’m putting my whole heart into it.

  • The shooting is taking place in Chandigarh. How challenging has the weather and environment been?

Very challenging. A person can conquer a lot with willpower, but not the weather. When the sun is scorching, you can’t do much. Still, we all give our best because when the result turns out good, all these difficulties feel small.

  • With this show, you’re once again associated with Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s production house. How has that experience been?

For me, this project is very emotional. I was earlier associated with Zee TV in “Jodha Akbar,” and now people are calling this my comeback. If it is indeed a comeback, then it’s happening on my old home, Zee TV. Ravi and Sargun are not only amazing actors but also excellent producers. They trust you, and that trust inspires you to work harder.

  • If you had to describe the pairing of Sidhu and Amandeep in one phrase, what would it be?

I’d say—it’s like fire and water. Sometimes fire, sometimes water. Both have their own intensity. That contrast will make it exciting for the audience.

  • What’s your off-screen bond like with Amandeep?

Earlier, we weren’t in much touch, but this show brought us closer. When you work together for a long time, you begin to understand each other. Having a co-actor like Amandeep is a blessing. We support each other and try to give our best. That bond reflects on screen too.

  • What message would you like to give to your audience?

I just want to say—give ‘Sidhu’ even more love than you’ve given me so far. This character is very special, and I promise you’ll see a different Sheezan in it. ‘Sidhu’ (in the show “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan”) will be in front of you from September 22, every night at 9 PM on Zee TV.
