You had worked with DKP before in 'Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si' and now you are doing 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' with him. How are you feeling?
Probably only fifteen days had passed since 'Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si' ended when I got the offer for this show. I am very grateful that I got such a good job in such a short time and that too with a production house which is a dream of many people but now it is a reality for me. It is a big thing for me that I got a chance to work with Rajan sir and his team again. I knew that the character of Ruhi would be more challenging than Mrinal. Initially, I found the character of Mrinal challenging because she was very extroverted, but now that the character is over, I no longer find it that challenging. I am still getting into the character of Ruhi, so I am finding this character a bit tough. Ruhi is not at all like a normal girl, one moment she feels one thing and the next moment she starts thinking and feeling something else. Some people may find it fake but the truth is that she is not fake. The truth is that she is complicated. I am very grateful to DKP, Star Plus, and Rajan sir for making me a part of this show. I aim to do justice to both the show and the character.
‘Yeh Rishta’ is a historical show, how has been the experience of working with everyone?
This feeling is quite special because ‘Yeh Rishta’ is a legacy show, and Rajan sir had also said “I am giving you my legacy.” Along with this legacy comes a lot of responsibilities. I am saying that this character is challenging because the eyes of many people are fixed on you, you will have to prove yourself in front of many people. I am ready for all these challenges. Some days I feel that this is too much of a challenge but there are some days when I feel that I can do it. The whole team is very good, from their side I never have to be afraid. Everything is great. An actor's challenge is only about the script, story, and performance, never about the people.
What kind of messages do you get from fans and audiences for your character Ruhi?
When I came to the show, many amazing and positive messages came. I am very honest in real life. The girl who played the character of Chhoti Ruhi was liked a lot by the people and when I entered the show, people had very lovely comments that “Chhoti Ruhi is back.” Everyone had very positive comments. As the story progressed, the shades of the character started appearing and I understood that there would be hate and negative comments from people regarding this character I understood that if such comments are coming from people, it means that I am doing my job. I am doing it correctly. Ruhi's character is quite complex, so there won't be only love comments for it. But there are also very few negative messages. But there are also some people among them who comment on a personal level. It is very easy to sit behind a computer or mobile and write anything negative about someone. If a person is writing about a character, that is a different thing, but if someone is making a personal comment about me, then it is wrong. Is. When I read the hate comments of many children, I do not understand where so much hatred is coming from within them. It is not wrong to make negative comments about a character, but it is wrong to comment on a personal level about the person playing that character. I feel in my profession I should learn to deal with all these things and I am learning right now.
What would you like to say to your fans?
Thank you very much to all of you who are supporting me and writing me lovely messages. These messages from you inspire me a lot to do good work and I will do good work for you. Thank you to all the fans of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ who have been giving so much love to the show for so many years and are loyal to the show and I consider myself lucky that I am a part of this show.
