‘Jagadhatri’ Actor Farman Haider Says,  A Woman Can Do Everything

Zee TV’s new show Jagadhatri brings to viewers a powerful story of women’s empowerment and the fight for justice. Starring Sonakshi Batra as ‘Jagadhatri’ and Farman Haider opposite her as ‘Shivay,’ the show explores strength, sensitivity, and purpose through its characters. In an exclusive conversation with Mayapuri Magazine’s journalist Shilpa Nalamwar, Farman shared insights about his character, the theme of womanhood, and his personal experiences.

How special is Jagadhatri for you?

This show is extremely special to me because its story represents not just one woman, but every household. Jagadhatri is a journey of a woman who fights for society — she is a mother, daughter, sister, wife, and above all, a human being who stands up for justice. It’s a show that truly celebrates the essence of woman empowerment.

Tell us about your role as Shivay.

I play Shivay, an undercover agent — a police officer who is calm, composed, and deeply rooted in values. For him, love, respect, and traditions mean everything. But when it comes to his duty or the nation, he becomes completely focused and fearless. Shivay is that kind of supportive partner every woman deserves — understanding, dependable, and emotionally intelligent.

How was your on-screen chemistry with Sonakshi Batra?

The characters of Jagadhatri (Sonakshi) and Shivay (my role) share a deep bond of understanding and teamwork. As viewers might have seen in the promo, sometimes he protects her, while other times she stands strong beside him. Their relationship is based on mutual respect and equality — not just romance. I think audiences will really appreciate that dynamic.

The show revolves around women’s empowerment. What’s your take on that?

This story is not just about one woman’s struggle but about every daughter, wife, sister, and mother who works outside and still takes care of her home. I’m proud to be part of a show that sends such a strong message — “A woman can do everything.” In my view, a woman’s real strength lies in her patience, sacrifice, and self-confidence.

Who has been your biggest support system in life?

My mother. I was raised by my mother and grandmother. They taught me the importance of respecting women, ensuring their safety, and treating them as equals. Growing up among strong women — my mother, sisters, and friends — helped me understand how essential freedom and respect are for every woman.

How was the experience shooting the action sequences?

Shooting this show felt like being part of a film. There’s plenty of action, drama, and emotion. I really enjoyed performing my own action sequences and even trained for them. It was both challenging and exciting to push my limits as an actor.

Tell us about your meeting with the ‘Nirbhaya Squad’.

That was one of the most inspiring moments of my life. Those women are the real ‘Jagadhatris’ — standing guard for society day and night, and then going home to take care of their families with the same dedication. I truly salute them from my heart.

What message would you like to give your fans and viewers?

I just want to say that Jagadhatri is not just a TV show — it’s a message, a story of women’s power, identity, and inner strength. I urge everyone to watch it and support such shows that have the potential to bring real change in society.
