Actor Karan Veer Mehra has emerged as the winner of the 18th season of the popular reality show Bigg Boss. Karan triumphed over his tough competitor, the beloved actor Vivian Dsena, to claim the coveted Bigg Boss trophy. After winning the show, Karan spoke to the media, reflecting on his journey and even remembering the late ex-contestant Siddharth Shukla. Let’s take a look at what he had to say:
- Congratulations, Karan! You’ve finally won the Bigg Boss trophy. How are you feeling?
I am extremely happy. It was such a wonderful experience, especially because of all the support I received. The fans who voted for me, the people who helped me, and the good relationships I built in the house—this victory is because of all of that. So, this is a victory for all of us. Thank you so much!
- There’s been talk about paid media being the reason behind your win. What’s your take on that?
Honestly, I don’t really understand what paid media means. People do what they know best. All I know is that I was able to raise the voice of the public. I tried explaining this to Avinash too. You came as the voice of the people. Maybe I understood it in a different way, and others didn’t quite get it. But I had a great time.
- You formed some great relationships in the house, but there were also questions raised by some who didn’t form bonds with others. You got emotional while responding. What would you like to say to them now?
I already answered them then. And as for now, this trophy is my answer to them. Also, there’s a poetry that I’d like to share with you: ‘Ban ke faanoos jiski hifazat khud hawa kare, woh shama kya bujhe jiski hifazat khud khuda kare’ (The lamp protected by the wind, what can extinguish it when God himself protects it?).
- You’ve been compared to Siddharth Shukla, especially with both of you having won the same trophy. What would you like to say about that?
He was a wonderful person, and a great friend. We didn’t spend a lot of time together, but we knew each other very well. And I’m happy to be compared to him because he was such a big-hearted man. I remember when I first came to Mumbai, he had this huge bike. I asked him if I could click some photos for my portfolio near his bike. He came down, gave me his key, and said, “Click the photos while driving on the back road.” When someone lets you use their expensive bike like that, you can imagine how big-hearted they are. I miss him. I wish I could’ve shared this moment with him.

- After the second meetup by the media, Elvish Army sent a lot of messages to the media, especially targeting you. How do you feel about this, and the fact that the media viewed your game positively?
I’d just say that you raised the voice of the people, and the people wanted this. There were reasons behind that. I’m not calling it a game, because it was a reality show. I was living it, and maybe you all were living it through me. You must have liked certain things about me, and those who made mistakes, well, they are suffering now.
- Your friends and the industry have supported you immensely. What do you want to say about their support?
Karan: I’m very grateful for all the love and support I received. I’m looking forward to partying with so many people, and I hope all of you will be there too! I’m just so happy. And though this trophy is mine, I am Karan Veer Mehra because of your love and support. It wouldn’t have happened without you all. So this trophy is for all of you.
In addition to winning Bigg Boss 18, Karan Veer Mehra had previously won the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 on Colors, adding yet another achievement to his growing list of successes.
