Raviraa Shines as Dr. Nigam in Thriller 'Khoj'
Khoj – Parchaiyon Ke Uss Paaris a gripping murder mystery thriller that keeps viewers at the edge of their seats with its intriguing storyline. In the series, Raviraaa portrays Dr. Nigam, a key character that adds a twist to the plot. In her interview, Raviraa shared how the audience has responded to the show and discussed her experience working on the project.
- How is the response to Khoj so far?
Raviraa shared that the series has been received positively, with viewers enjoying the twists and turns. “Everyone who’s started watching Khoj from the first episode has continued to watch till the end,” she said. “It’s a murder mystery that keeps you on your toes, and the introduction of my character adds a major twist. You’ll have to watch the show to find out what the real mystery is, but it’s been amazing to see the audience react to it.”
- You’ve recently had several songs released, with one crossing 5 million views. Do you prefer singing or acting?
Raviraa explained that she enjoys both, though films hold a special place in her heart. “I love films, and songs are something you can enjoy any time,” she said. “Today, songs are also a medium for storytelling. In the music videos I’ve worked on, I’ve showcased different characters, just like in Khoj, where I play a doctor. I’ve had the opportunity to work with talented singers like Mika Singh, Kaka, and Raj, as well as renowned actors like Shah Rukh and Tahir.”
- Where was Khoj shot, and did you face any challenges while filming?
The series was shot in Pune and Mumbai, and Raviraa described the experience as fun yet challenging. “While shooting, I was also dealing with some personal family issues, which required frequent travel between Delhi and Mumbai,” she said. “There’s one funny incident I recall. Since I play Dr. Nigam, when I returned from the hospital one day, someone actually mistook me for a real doctor. It was hilarious because life was imitating my character on screen!”
- Do you have a favorite song from all the ones you’ve worked on?
Raviraa expressed her love for all the songs she’s been a part of, but shared a couple of favorites. “My family loves ‘Break-up Parties,’ and they play it every day,” she laughed. “For me, ‘Saavre’ and ‘Aakhri Had’ are my favorites. They have the feel of a movie song.”
- What are your thoughts on nepotism in the entertainment industry?
Raviraa shared her perspective on nepotism and fame, stating, “Nepotism is just about 15 minutes of fame. People will watch for a while, but eventually, that fame fades. This industry is a marathon, not a sprint. If you work steadily and focus on doing good projects, respect and admiration will come. No one can take your destiny away from you. You’ll get where you want to be if you keep working hard.”
- Who would you like to work with in the future?
When asked about her dream co-actor, Raviraa didn’t hesitate. “Shah Rukh Khan, of course! Who wouldn’t want to work with him? He’s an inspiration for everyone. It was after watching his film Asoka that I decided to pursue acting,” she said with admiration.
- What do you want to tell your audience about Khoj?
Raviraa encouraged everyone to watch the show, highlighting its gripping nature. “You must watch Khoj. It’s a fantastic thriller that will keep you hooked. When I watched it myself as a viewer, I couldn’t stop. I’m sure you’ll feel the same,” she said.
- What’s next for you?
Raviraa teased an exciting upcoming project, Firdous. “You’ll see me in Firdous soon. I can’t reveal much, but it’s going to be a game-changer. It will offer a new perspective on Kashmir—beyond the conflict, you’ll see the love and beauty of the region.”
In Khoj – Parchaiyon Ke Us Paar, Raviraaa Bhardwaj stars alongside Sharib Hashmi and Anupriya Goenka. Directed by Prabal Baruah, the series is now available on Zee5.
