Famous matchmaker Seema Taparia, known to the world as “Seema Aunty,” is all set to appear in an all-new avatar — as a micro-drama host. After earning worldwide fame through Netflix’s Indian Matchmaking, she now returns with ‘Sach Ya Kalesh’ on Story TV — India’s first micro-drama series that explores the depths of relationships, marriage, and conflict.

In a candid conversation with Mayapuri Magazine’s Shilpa Nalamwar, Seema Aunty opened up about the show’s concept, her personal journey, and her thoughts on modern-day relationships.

The show ‘Sach Ya Kalesh’ has generated a lot of buzz among viewers. What is the show all about?

‘Sach Ya Kalesh’ is a show where the reality of married couples — their love, their fights, and their truth — all unfold in a single frame. It’s India’s first micro-drama show, featuring couples from across the country — some married, some divorced.
Through a life detector test, hidden truths about relationships are revealed, and with them, both affection and anger come to the surface.

What’s the most interesting part of the show?

The most fun part is when I ask couples questions, and even while telling the truth, they end up getting caught in a lie. Sometimes they get angry mid-conversation — that’s when the real drama begins! Love, arguments, and honesty — everything comes out naturally. That’s the true beauty of the show.

The show is also launching digitally. What’s your view on the digital era?

Everything today is digital. People no longer have to sit in front of the TV. Every episode of ‘Sach Ya Kalesh’ will be available to watch anytime on your phone.
In just 15–20 minutes, the audience can enjoy the full story and will immediately wonder, “What happens next?” — that’s the magic of it.

As a marriage consultant, what do you think is the biggest problem in relationships today?

The biggest issues today are lack of patience and adjustment.
In earlier times, small issues didn’t break relationships. But now, even engagements break so easily — people say, “He’s not my type,” or “Our hobbies don’t match.”
The truth is, two people can never be identical. Some differences are natural — and that’s where love is truly tested.

How do you view the rising divorce rates today?

Today’s young men and women are educated, independent, and self-focused. They don’t like to listen to anyone.
Earlier, relationships were built on sharing, caring, giving, and taking — these values are fading now. That’s why I always say — have a little patience, give your partner space, and let go of ego. Relationships will automatically become easier.

What’s your advice for a successful marriage?

It’s very simple — drop your ego, have patience, give your partner space, and be a little flexible. If you do just this much, life becomes smooth and happy. Find joy in small things — that’s the real beauty of love.

Coming from a Marwari family, how did you manage to build your own path in such a traditional setup?

Honestly, it wasn’t easy. But since childhood, I always wanted love and respect — that passion guided me to this path.
With God’s blessings and full support from my husband and two daughters, I have reached where I am today. They are my pillars of strength and my biggest motivation.

Which Bollywood couple do you admire the most?

Dharmendra and Hema Malini. I’ve been a huge fan of Hema Ji since childhood. Their chemistry and understanding are truly admirable.

Any special message for your audience?

Just this — learn to adjust a little, have patience, and give your partner some space.
