‘Naagin 7’ Marks Namik Paul’s Powerful Comeback:  Balaji, Colors and Naagin Are Big Names

Television’s popular and talented actor Namik Paul is returning to the small screen with a bang. After Kumkum Bhagya, he has joined the hugely successful franchise ‘Naagin 7’. His association with Balaji Telefilms and Ekta Kapoor has always been special. In an exclusive conversation with Mayapuri Magazine, Namik spoke candidly about his break, health, the reason behind joining Naagin 7, his chemistry with co-star Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, and the major twists in the show. Here’s what he had to say:

You are back on television after a brief break. What was the reason?

Actually, I neglected my health for a while, and due to that carelessness, I developed bronchitis. So I decided to pause, focus on recovery, and only then return to shooting.

How has your experience been working with Balaji Telefilms?

I noticed this even during Kumkum Bhagya—Balaji’s setup is extremely strong. The writers, creative team, and production take great care of everything. Kumkum Bhagya was a wonderful experience, although the show went off air for certain reasons. When I got the call for Naagin 7, I didn’t have to think much. Balaji, Colors, and Naagin—all three are very big names. Plus, I could clearly understand the character. Handsome and talented television actor Namik Paul is all set to make a powerful comeback on the small screen. After Kumkum Bhagya, Namik is now part of one of television’s biggest and most talked-about franchise shows, ‘Naagin 7’.

How did you feel about the perfectionism shown towards your character?

My entry scene was shot three times. The first time, something didn’t feel right, so it was changed. The second time too, Ekta ma’am wasn’t fully satisfied, so I rewrote the scene. It doesn’t happen often that so much care is taken for a character. I felt really good seeing this level of attention and detailing.

How has your experience been working with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Eisha Singh?

I had fewer scenes with Eisha—initially just two scenes where we were interacting face to face. I have more scenes with Priyanka. The best thing about her is that she always thinks about others first—offering a chair, water, and helping around. It’s not for show. In the last two and a half months, I’ve seen that she genuinely is like this. As an actor, she’s very relaxed. If something goes wrong, she laughs it off—and that’s the right attitude to have. Maintaining her look—teeth, makeup, overall appearance—for such a long time is a huge commitment. She has worked very hard for the show.

Staying relevant in the industry for so many years isn’t easy, especially with big banners. How did you manage it?

It’s definitely not easy. Along with hard work, luck also plays a big role. I’ve always tried to work on myself. There are times when you expect things to go a certain way, but they move in a completely different direction. During such phases, I took breaks. In 2022, I did a show, then came Kumkum Bhagya, which was a beautiful experience. The balance of hard work and luck—that’s the real story of Mumbai.

Your chemistry with Priyanka has been appreciated since the show’s launch. The betrayal and accusation angle looks quite intense. What would you like to say about it?

Thank you so much! This is exactly the point where the story reaches its peak. What has been revealed is a major twist—truly mind-blowing and shocking. When we heard it, even we said, “Wow!” The show is a thriller and extremely twisty. I can’t reveal the twist, but the audience will definitely find themselves supporting one particular side.

Our show ‘Naagin 7’ will air from 27th December, every Saturday and Sunday at 8 PM, only on Colors TV. It’s packed with thrill, excitement, and twists. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
