Naman has worked in many TV serials like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Kasauti Zindagi Ki', and 'Kasturi'. Let us tell you that along with being an actor, Naman is also a producer who has produced many shows. For your information, let us tell you that Naman will be seen playing an important role in the upcoming show 'Mangal Lakshmi' on Colors.
Your style has never been seen before on television, what would you like to say about it?
I have been in this industry for 15 to 20 years and till now I have not done any such role. Till now I was only playing sweet and good boy-type roles. As an actor, I had never done this kind of character and this was the reason for me doing this show. I wanted to test myself in a new character. This character is very interesting. This character is a bit gray but very real and relatable. I am getting a very good opportunity to perform in this because when you play the character of a good boy, you keep doing all the typical things. I am getting to do a lot of new things in this character.
What would you like to say about the show and the concept of the show?
The name of the show is Mangal Lakshmi. This is the story of two sisters where Mangal wants to improve the life of her younger sister Lakshmi with her experience. Mangal is looking for a boy for her sister who will respect and love her because Mangal does not have all these things in her life. Mangal's husband Aditya, whose character I am playing, is an IT engineer. Aditya marries Mangal on his mother's insistence, but Aditya is not happy with this marriage. Aditya feels that he deserves a better girl than Mangal and hence Aditya does not give Mangal the respect that she deserves. Aditya feels that household work is very easy and anyone can do it. Whatever Mangal is facing in her life, she does not want her sister to also face the same things. This is the base of our story and the journey of these two sisters is our story.
You are working opposite Deepika, how has been the experience of working with her?
He is a big name in television, his last show did very well. As good an actor as she is, she is also a good human being. He is a very down-to-earth and fun-loving person. If I have to describe Deepika in one word, I would say chatterbox, you just turn it on, and then she will not give you a chance to speak.
What do you think is the special thing about this show?
Everything is special for me in this show. When I was told about this show for the first time, I decided that I had to be a part of this show. I have never felt such a positive vibe from any show as from this one. This show will touch people's hearts. This is a Colors and prime-time show. Deepika is in it. The concept of the show is very amazing. I am enjoying my character, it is a bit grey, but as an actor, I feel this is my best show. After this show, people will know me as a performer.
Apart from this show, tell us something about your upcoming projects.
As an artist, my entire time is going to be devoted to Mangal Lakshmi because the show will be telecast for 7 days, so I will not get a chance to do anything else. I am also a producer so some things are going on in the pipeline in OTT also. A film is going to be released from my production house.
As an actor, having your own production house is a big thing, so did you ever think that you would become a producer?
Becoming a producer is a very distant thing, I had never even thought that I would come to Bombay and become an actor. Life gives you things in its way. I am very happy and consider myself very lucky. Whatever is happening is happening well. It has been 20 years since I lived in Bombay, I built my own house and office, started a production house, and with this, I also returned to acting.
What would you like to say to the fans?
I would like to say that at this time I need your support very much, I am coming back to TV after a long time. I would like you to watch 'Mangal Lakshmi' from Monday to Sunday at 9 pm on Colors. Come join this show, once you join this show you will not be able to move away.
