Abhika is making her debut in the Hindi television industry with this show. The story revolves around a young pregnant woman who is determined to balance her personal life while pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor. Recently, the actress spoke to Mayapuri Magazine about her role, her co-actor, and how she got this role.
Let’s take a look at what Abhika Malakar had to say...
- This is your first time joining Star Plus. How special is this show for you?
This show is very special for me as it is my first Hindi television show, and I am extremely excited about it. While appearing in front of the camera is not new to me, working on this show has been a fresh experience, and I’m really enjoying it. I have previously done this story in Malayalam, so it’s not completely new for me, but working in this new medium is still very exciting.
- Could you tell us about your character Raani and how she will connect with the audience?
Raani is an 18-19 year-old girl who has just completed her 12th grade and aspires to become a doctor. It's not just about her career—she also wants a complete life with her family, her husband's love, and her children. "Pocket Mein Aasmaan" means that Raani wants to have everything in her hands. She believes that a woman can do everything if she truly desires it, and that is exactly what her character embodies.
- We’ve seen some really cute chemistry between you and Digvijay on social media and in promos. Could you share something about that?
The chemistry between Digvijay and me is very cute. He is a very kind and generous person, and we have had a great time working together. He helps me and everyone else on set and always keeps the atmosphere cheerful. The poster from the show that went viral on social media was loved by everyone, and I must say, I was really happy with how it turned out.
- What kind of chemistry can we expect to see between Raani and Digvijay on the show?
I believe that the chemistry between Raani and Digvijay will be very good. From my gut feeling, it’s going to be exciting. However, in the story, Raani and Digvijay have very different ways of thinking. Raani thinks one way, and Digvijay thinks the opposite, which brings an interesting twist to the narrative.
- How did you get connected with this show? Can you share some details?
Getting connected to this show was a very simple process. I received a call for the audition, and I went to Mumbai to give it. There were many other actors there at the time, but somehow, they felt I was the right fit for the role, and that’s how I ended up here.
- What message would you like to give to your fans?
My fans have always showered me with love, and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. Pocket Mein Aasmaan is coming on 30th January at 6 PM on Star Plus. Please don’t forget to watch it, and continue supporting me the way you always have. Thank you!
To note, the show is produced by Boyhood Productions, and alongside Abhika Malakar, Farman Haider will be seen playing the role of her husband, Digvijay.
