What would you like to say about the show?
The name of the show is ‘Pukaar: Dil Se Dil Tak’. This is a family drama that has a lot of suspense and layers. The name of my character is Rajeshwari Maheshwari. We have a spice business named Maheshwari Masala, I am the owner of that business and I am the head of the family. According to people, I am the main villain of this show but Rajeshwari does not think so at all. According to her, she has created this spice company, hence it belongs to her, even though the company has now become a public limited, Rajeshwari feels that whatever position the company is in today, it is because of her. She is very positive about her company and since she is the head of the family, she wants her legacy to go ahead and no one should disturb her future. Whatever she has to do for her business and family, she does it. She uses everything - Sama, Daam, Dand, Bheda, because according to her everything is justified in a fight.
In an interview, you said that the character of Rajeshwari reminds you of Jaya Bachchan's character in the film 'Rocky Aur Rani'. Would you like to say something about this?
When I was giving the narration of this character, I told him that this character is similar to Jaya Bachchan's character, and he also said yes. Let me tell you that Jaya Bachchan's character in that film was just bad, I am not just bad, and I am also very bad. Rajeshwari is very possessive, she believes that whatever she says is right and should be the same. Because he believes that he is right and no one else has the authority to teach him anything.
How was the experience working with Sony Entertainment and the rest of the cast and crew of the show?
This entire team is new to me, there is no one in this team with whom I have worked before. The process of reaching the shooting is a bit long. It is a long journey from the time the character is finalized till it arrives on the set. The two girls of the show, Vedika and Koyal, I have not shot with them for a single day yet. Just met him. I have worked with Sagar for two days. Till now, I have done most of the scenes with Saraswati and with Digvijay who is playing my son. I met the person playing the character of Saraswati for the first time but her husband Abhijeet had worked with me in her first Marathi serial. Now I have a very good twinning with my co-actors.
What would you like to say to the audience about this show?
As you know the name of the show is 'Pukaar: Dil Se Dil Tak', we too as a team is calling you from our heart to your heart. This is different from all the shows I have worked on to date because whenever you watch the initial episodes of a serial, it takes time to establish them, but if you watch the first five episodes of this show, then the story runs, and if you don't watch the first five episodes, you won't know anything about the sixth episode. When as an actor we have shot it, but despite that, if we watch the episode, we too are stunned, so you can understand. Therefore, it is important to watch 'Pukaar: Dil Se Dil Tak' on Sony Television from 27th May at 8:30 pm, otherwise, you will not know what is happening in the story.
What would you like to say to your fans?
I started my daily soap journey with the serial 'Shanti', whose first telecast was on 15 August 1994 and this year on 15 August I will complete 30 years in this industry. My journey so far has been very good. An actor cannot be successful without the audience. The audience likes you so you get to work again. I am very lucky that I have been in this industry for 30 years and it is by God's grace that I have been getting work, and I have tried my best to live up to your expectations. I always try to work from my heart and somewhere you may like my work. I hope you like my work in this show also.
