Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, who constantly grabs headlines for her beauty, was recently seen celebrating the success of her film Daku Maharaj. She was spotted in a stunning red outfit, completing her look with beautiful earrings. Her overall appearance was absolutely gorgeous. During the event, Urvashi held a press conference where she expressed her happiness and answered questions from the media.

  • Your film Daku Maharaj has joined the 100 Crore Club in such a short time. How do you feel about this?

I feel great that our film has gained such immense recognition so quickly. Everyone is congratulating me for becoming the first outsider Bollywood actress to enter the 100 Crore Club in such a short time. Our film has become the biggest blockbuster of Sankranti. I would like to thank everyone who watched the film and appreciated it. It's not just like the typical ;Dabidi Dibidi’  song, but my film is about a policeman. I performed my own action stunts in it, there are no body doubles. There’s a special sequence where I’m fighting 10-15 men. People have appreciated my Telugu dialogue delivery. I made a promise to myself from the start that I would focus on versatility, and I’m able to do it. I always want to play diverse roles. I’m truly happy that everyone is appreciating my acting skills and screen presence. Our film has been a massive hit.

This was my debut performance in Telugu, and everyone is talking about the significant age gap between me and Balakrishna. It’s true, and I won’t deny it. It's the biggest age gap in Indian cinema. Additionally, I consider myself fortunate that within 11 months, I’ve worked with Chiranjeevi Garu, Pawan Kalyan Garu, and Balakrishna.

  • We often hear comparisons between Bollywood and South Indian cinema, especially by actors and filmmakers. Do you think these comparisons are valid? If I were to ask you, what is the key difference between Bollywood and South Indian cinema?

Our work is similar in both industries. I made a promise to myself from the start that I would only work with visionary filmmakers. Director Bobby Kolli has an excellent track record, and this is his career's biggest blockbuster hit. Before this, all of Balakrishna Garu’s films were bumper blockbusters, but Daku Maharaj had the biggest opening. It has become the highest-grossing film of our careers. It was released in Telugu and the US, not in Hindi and Tamil. Its opening was tremendous, and if it had released here, it would’ve crossed 500 Crore.

Game Changer’ & ‘Fateh’ Raise Concerns for Kangana and Ajay Devgn

Your film was released at a time when many films were clashing, like Fateh, Game Changer, Emergency, and Azad. Even Game Changer is a South Indian film. Yet, your film reached 150 Crore the fastest, even surpassing Kiara Advani’s Game Changer. How do you feel about that?

I think the entire game has changed. There was a lot of hype about the film, and I have been reading many tweets about it. If Game Changer is a disaster for Kiara Advani and Daku Maharaj is a blockbuster, then I don’t think that’s my fault. I’m very grateful to everyone who has watched and appreciated the film.

  • Do you want to share any special message for your fans of Daku Maharaj? What would you say to those who haven’t seen the film yet?

I love all of you. I’m really grateful for the love I’m receiving for my acting from India, South India, and the US. ‘Dabidi Dibidi’ is a high-budget song with almost 15 Crore invested. It’s not just an item song, as the heroine isn’t dancing alone; there’s a hero dancing along with her. In the song, Balakrishna Garu is shown as a king, and I am depicted as a queen or princess. If you look at our looks in the song, we’re both sitting on thrones.

Everyone is talking about the song, but I know how many marks were left on my body after shooting that song. There are still marks on my body because the costume was very heavy. We used many Afro dance moves, jungle and tribal-inspired steps, because that’s the style of our film. People should watch Daku Maharaj to understand the effort that went into the song and the entire movie.

What message would you like to give your fans?

Lots of love to all of you. I want to thank our director Bobby Kohli, who has worked so hard on the screenplay and writing for the past two years. Also, huge thanks to our producers for bringing this incredible project to life.

As for Urvashi Rautela’s upcoming projects, she will be seen alongside Ravi Kishan in the film JNU, which is set to release on April 5, 2024.
