Aamir Khan’s Sitare Zameen Par Hits Theatres: Salman Khan Says “It Was Offered to Me First!”

Aamir Khan's latest film, Sitare Zameen Par, has officially been released in cinemas today, 20 June 2025. A grand premiere was held on 19 June in Mumbai, attended by Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, who came to support their close friend Aamir.

Salman Khan Reveals Aamir Offered Him the Film First

At the premiere, Salman Khan grabbed attention not just for his presence but also for his candid and humorous comments. While posing for photographers on the red carpet, Salman said:

“Aamir called me to hear this story. I really liked the concept and even said yes. But later, I got a call where he told me, ‘I’m doing the film myself.’”

Salman added with a laugh,

“I praised the film so much that Aamir said, ‘Now I’ll tear it apart on screen’ – and that’s exactly what he did.”

Salman even poked fun at Aamir’s personal life, referring to the period during Aamir’s divorce from Kiran Rao. He jokingly said:

“At the time, Aamir was busy with paperwork... scriptwriting and paperwork – the other kind, you know.”

The light-hearted exchange made everyone laugh, especially when Aamir chimed in with:

“What if he said yes, but I jumped in midway?”

Their camaraderie stole the show and reminded fans of their iconic bond.

What is Sitare Zameen Par About?

The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par. This time, Aamir plays a suspended basketball coach, who is ordered by the court to train a team of neurodivergent adults after a DUI incident. The story follows how the experience changes his perspective on life and redemption.
