Akshay's 'Welcome to the Jungle' ready to release on Christmas, 75% shooting completed

Earlier in 2024, Akshay Kumar along with Firoz Nadiadwala had decided to recreate two of the most loved franchises of Indian cinema - Welcome and Hera Pheri. There is tremendous excitement among the cinema-going audience about Welcome to the Jungle (Welcome 3) and Hera Pheri 3. Soon after, the shooting of Welcome to the Jungle began under the direction of Ahmed Khan and the makers formed the biggest team in the history of Hindi cinema. Led by Akshay Kumar, Welcome to the Jungle stars Paresh Rawal, Sunil Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and Lara Dutta.

Aiming to bring it to the big screen on Christmas weekend 2025

Let us tell you that information is coming out from media reports that Akshay Kumar and Firoz Nadiadwala are aiming to bring this adventure comedy to the big screen on the Christmas 2025 weekend. Welcome to the Jungle is being designed as a big-ticket Christmas entertainer. If reports are to be believed, it is being said that "75 percent of the shooting has been completed, and the team has also edited about 2 hours of the entire footage shot so far. The film is being made on a large scale and the stakeholders are extremely happy with what they have seen on the editing table. The main plot of the film takes the entire cast on an unexpected adventure journey - from the jungles of India to Kashmir. "

The reports further state that the makers intend to complete Welcome to the Jungle by June 2025, and then complete the post-production work before bringing it out in the Christmas period. “While the VFX work for the footage already shot is in full swing, and is nearing completion, the remaining footage will also require extensive VFX. Welcome to the Jungle is one of the ambitious comedies of Indian cinema, given its genre and ensemble cast. The film is packed with jokes and one-liners, bringing back the 'twisted' side of the player,” 

Work Front

Before Welcome to the Jungle, Akshay Kumar will be seen in two other comic films - Sajid Nadiadwala franchise Housefull 5 and Subhash Kapoor directorial Jolly LLB 3. Akshay is also shooting for a horror comedy titled Bhoot Bangla with Priyadarshan, which will hit the theatres in April 2026. Talking about Hera Pheri 3, the cult comic caper is expected to go on the floors after Welcome to the Jungle wraps up, and the current timeline indicates filming starting in December 2025.
