Patel revealed, "Hrithik and I both got marriage proposals from fans. They would marry our pictures in temples. I got letters written in blood, confessing their love. It was very scary. People would follow me... people would stalk us." Fans went overboard At that time, there was no big culture of actors having bodyguards but since some fans went overboard, she had to hire a crew at the beginning of her journey in the film industry. The Gadar actress eventually took time to adjust to the popularity as she could not freely visit restaurants or salons like before. Though she was grateful for the success, the actress admitted that the constant attention sometimes felt overwhelming. She shared that things changed for her and during her last 25 years in the film industry, she sometimes wished for a quiet life.
