Apple Issues Warning: Mobile Phone Users at Risk

Apple Inc., the world's most secure company, has issued an email notification to its iPhone users in 92 countries on April 10 that their phones may be at risk of a mercenary spyware attack. The company has suggested users be careful and use safe technology.

Security Concerns: Low-Cost Phones vs. iPhones

The matter of concern is that when the risk of spy attacks can increase on expensive phones like iPhones, then how safe are the people with other low-cost phones that are used extensively in India and where China phones are dominant? The company had earlier said on its website that these notifications are designed to alert users and keep their phones safe. The word 'government sponsored' has not been used in this notification. This information has been sent to phone users through email messages. It has been reported that their technology has been breached by mercenary spyware. This is more complex and complicated than spyware and malware.

Spyware Threats: Elections and Privacy Security

Let us tell you that some spy companies like Pegasus invent new spy techniques to spy on big people. This espionage is often 'government-sponsored'. The Government of India had objected to this. This time the word 'government sponsored' is not there in the notification. Despite this, elections are going on in 60 countries of the world including India, which poses a threat to the security of privacy. Mostly this spyware is used on the phones of political leaders, big ministers, activists, journalists, and big industrial influencers. These spywares are connected to their phones through some hidden technology and their information is stolen and sold to the adversaries.

However, such spying is used for big people who use expensive phones. Mobile companies keep giving notifications about such spy threats. But, it is also true that the danger is increasing. More than spies, the threat of cargo spies, and now more than that, mercenary spyware is a matter of concern. According to some information, preparing such spyware is very expensive, and their cost runs into crores, which is why their use becomes a threat only to the big people. But, it is also true that very expensive electronic devices become available for sale on the streets after some time. Therefore, there is danger, no matter what the phone is or what the label is, mobile phone users need to be careful. TRAI in India also advises from time to time to be careful of dangers. The Ministry of Information is also very active in this direction and information is given to the consumers from time to time. Till now cybercrime has been considered the only cause of danger, now the threat of mercenary spies is a big challenge. There is a need not only for iPhone but all types of mobile phone users to be alert and use security technology.
