Arjun Kapoor Pays Tribute to Grandmother Nirmal Kapoor, Says ‘A Part of Me Is Gone’

Arjun Kapoor pays a tribute to his 'dadi' Nirmal Kapoor: Nirmal Kapoor, mother of producer Boney Kapoor and actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, died on May 2 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. The entire Kapoor family is in grief due to the departure of Nirmal Kapoor from this world. Now Arjun Kapoor paid a heartfelt tribute to his late grandmother Nirmal Kapoor on social media. Arjun said that even though she is no longer here, her 'legacy will live on'.

Let us tell you that actor Arjun Kapoor shared several childhood photos with his late grandmother Nirmal Kapoor on his Instagram account on Thursday, May 8, to pay an emotional tribute to her. In one photo, Arjun was seen smiling with Nirmal. In a video, Arjun asked her to tell people on Instagram how she liked his film. Nirmal smiled and said, "Bahut Achcha." Arjun laughed and said that's all she could say. In another old photo, Nirmal is seen feeding cake to little Arjun while holding him in her lap. In another photo taken several years ago, Nirmal is seen smiling with little Arjun and his sister Anshula.

Arjun Kapoor wrote an emotional note for his grandmother

While sharing this post, she wrote, "I grew up with my four grandparents and for this I will always be grateful to them. I said goodbye to my grandmother in the hospital last Friday, it felt like a part of my childhood, and my life went with her. Whatever ups and downs there were in life, somehow our grandparents gave us only love and reasons to smile". 

Arjun Kapoor said this for his grandmother

Arjun Kapoor continued, "Age is a cruel mistress that limits us to issues at some point in our lives but Dadi has always been the same for me, always feeding us, always worrying about us... She may be no more but I feel her legacy will live on through her 4 kids and all of us grandkids... Her memories will always remind us of her in all her glory every time we get together for a festival, meal or event. Love you Dadi Your beautiful grandson Arjan (that's how she always called me)"

Nirmal Kapoor died on 2 May

Nirmal Kapoor was married to Surinder Kapoor, a well-known producer in the film industry. She had four children: Boney, Anil, Sanjay, and Reena Kapoor Marwah. After the news of her death, many Bollywood celebrities like Javed Akhtar, Rani Mukerji, Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, and Veer Paharia came to console her family. Her funeral took place on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Vile Parle crematorium in Pawan Hans, Mumbai.
