Battle of Galwan Release Date: Salman Khan Reveals Role Details and Launch Plan

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is currently busy shooting for his upcoming patriotic film, Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Based on the 2020 India-China clash in the Galwan Valley, the film promises to be an intense portrayal of sacrifice, courage, and resilience.

A Physically Challenging Role for Salman Khan

Speaking about his role, Salman revealed that it's one of the most physically demanding characters he has ever played. “This role requires an extreme amount of physical effort. It’s getting tougher every day, week, and month,” Salman shared in an interview. “Earlier, I could prepare within a week or two. Now, I must do kickboxing, punching, running, and a full workout every morning to bring life to this role.”

Filming in Harsh Conditions of Ladakh

The film's principal shooting took place in Ladakh, under extremely harsh conditions. “We shot for 20 days in Ladakh, followed by 7–8 days in icy water. The low oxygen levels and freezing temperatures made filming incredibly difficult,” Salman said. He also confirmed that some parts of the shoot will continue into July 2025.

‘Sikandar’ vs ‘Battle of Galwan’: Completely Different Action

When asked to compare the action sequences in Battle of Galwan with those in his recent film Sikandar, Salman clarified: “Both are completely different. While Sikandar had stylized action, Battle of Galwan is a true test of physical endurance and strength.”

Release Date & Future Projects

Salman Khan has confirmed that Battle of Galwan will hit theaters in January 2026. Unlike his usual Eid releases, this patriotic film will be a New Year gift to fans. He also revealed that a sequel to his hit film Bajrangi Bhaijaan is currently under production.

‘Sikandar’ Disappoints at the Box Office

Despite high expectations, Sikandar failed to perform at the box office. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film starred Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharad Kelkar, Sanjay Kapoor, and others.
