Dhadak 2 Delay: Karan Johar Breaks Silence, Says ‘CBFC Was Kind to the Film’

Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri are currently busy preparing for their upcoming film 'Dhadak 2'. The trailer of the film was released on July 11. On the occasion of the trailer launch of 'Dhadak 2', Karan Johar has broken his silence on the release of the film.

Karan Johar talks about the delay in the release of Dhadak 2

In fact, breaking his silence on the delay in the release of Dhadak 2, producer Karan Johar said that the censor board was "very understanding and kind" towards the subject of the film. He said, "I have never worried about the consequences because as an artist, it limits you. If I get scared in the beginning. So there is a line in the film, 'If you have an option, fight', and the best way to say your point is through art".

Along with this, Karan Johar praised the CBFC. The producer said, "It took us some time to reach the theatres, but the censor board was also very understanding and sensitive and completely understood what we were trying to say through the film. They were protecting sensitivity, and we were also protecting sensitivity. We understood their point of view and respected it".

'Dhadak 2 will make people wake up and think'- Karan Johar

Continuing his talk, Karan Johar said that he is proud of this last film, which talks about the "reality of our times" and raises an important issue. Producer Karan Johar further added, "Sometimes these things take time, these things cannot happen overnight. So the censor board has certain processes and we should follow them. It took time, but every good thing takes time to come out. It is a story that wakes you up and makes you think. These topics are not just related to small towns, but also happen around us. It is a true reality of our times, no matter where you live."

'Dhadak 2' will be released on August 1

Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Arora, Somen Mishra and Pragati Deshmukh, co-produced by Marijke D'Souza, the film is a spiritual sequel to Dhadak, which starred Janhvi and Ishaan Khatter. Dhadak 2 also stars Vipin Sharma, Manjiri Pupala, Diksha Joshi, Saurabh Sachdev and others in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 1.
