In fact, in an interview, choreographer Vijay Ganguly recalled shooting a qawwali sequence. He said, "It was around 2:30-3 in the morning. We told Dharmendra ji that he had to dance a little and he could do whatever he felt comfortable with, but he asked what the others were doing. We showed him that the other boys were doing leg steps while holding each other's shoulders. He asked, 'Why can't I do this?'"

Dharmendra gave his 100 percent 

Continuing his point, the choreographer added, "He was insistent on doing the steps. He was sitting because it was a bit difficult for him to get up again and again... He got up and did it. Finally, we asked him not to do it because if we had to do many retakes, it would be physically tiring for him and to be honest, dancing wasn't very important for his character at that time, but for him personally, his thought was that he had to give his 100 percent. He also felt that no one should think that he can't do it, so he showed that he can. We said, 'Wow, this is amazing.'"

Dharmendra had the pain of leaving his home in Punjab.

In fact, director Sriram Raghavan explained in an interview, "With Dharamji, there was no acting. I mean, his gait, his movements, everything was part of the character. He connected deeply with the story. The pain of leaving his home in Punjab had been ingrained in him for years. The idea of ​​going back home became a very personal experience; he completely immersed himself in the character. He had a deep understanding of dialogue and valued economy of words."
